The eligibility criteria for Uttarakhand Nursing Entrance Exam 2023 is decided by HNBUMU. The criteria state the academic qualifications, nationality, age limit and other important information each candidate must meet to become eligible to apply for the examination. In an unlikely scenario, if a candidate applies for the examination without meeting its criteria, the administration holds the power to cancel her/ his candidature even after the candidate has been issued an Admit Card.

Age Limit for Uttarakhand Nursing Entrance Exam 2023

  • The minimum age required for the Bachelor of Nursing (B.Sc.) course is 17 years.

  • Candidates over the age of 35 years are not eligible to apply for the entrance exam.

Nationality for Uttarakhand Nursing Entrance Exam 2023

Only the candidates with Indian nationality are eligible to apply for Uttarakhand Nursing Entrance Examination 2023.

Uttarakhand Nursing Exam 2023 Eligibility Criteria for B.Sc. Nursing

  • The natives of Uttarakhand must have completed their High School and Intermediate or equivalent from a recognised board: HSCE/ ISSCE/ CBSE/ ICSE.

  • Candidates from any other recognised board situated in the state are also eligible for the exam. 

  • The minimum marks required by candidates is 45 per cent in aggregate in Physics, Biology and Chemistry.

  • Candidates must also have studied English as a compulsory/ optional subject at the intermediate level. 

  • Candidates who are non-natives of Uttarakhand fall under the same eligibility norms. However, these candidates shall not avail the benefits of reserved seats. 

Uttarakhand Nursing Exam 2023 Eligibility Criteria for B.Sc. Post Basic Nursing

  • The minimum educational qualification required for B.Sc. Post Basic Nursing at Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Uttarakhand Medical University is that the candidate must hold a GNM Diploma after passing 12th or equivalent from a recognised institution. 

  • The candidate must be a registered Midwife and Registered Nurse or equivalent approved by a State Nursing Registration Council.

  • Interested candidates must have passed certain examinations from an institution that is recognised by the Indian Nursing Council. The exams include B.Sc/PB, B.Sc/PC, or B.Sc. Nursing. 

  • The minimum marks required by candidates in aggregate is 50 percent. 

  • Candidates who are not permanent or native residents of Uttarakhand must fulfil the same criteria but would not be entitled to reservation.

Uttarakhand Nursing Exam 2023 Eligibility Criteria for M.Sc. Nursing

  • A candidate who holds a B.Sc. Nursing or Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing degree from an accredited college or institute is considered eligible. 

  • The minimum scores required by candidates is 55 per cent. 

  • Candidates who are not the permanent residents of the state but meet the above-mentioned criteria can apply for the exam. However, they will not be able to avail the provision of reservation. 

  • Candidates applying for the examination must have work experience of at least one year after completing their required bachelor’s degree. 

  • Students must have completed their bachelor’s degree from a nursing institute that is accredited from the Associated State Nursing Council or INC (Indian Nursing Council). 

Uttarakhand Nursing Exam 2023 Eligibility Criteria for ANM

  • Interested candidates should have completed their Intermediate or an equivalent level of education from a recognised board or institution. 

  • Candidates should have completed the qualifying exam in Humanities or Health Care as a vocational stream.

  • Candidates who have completed their education in Arts or Science stream from NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) are also eligible for application. 

  • Only female candidates are considered eligible for ANM course. 

Uttarakhand Nursing Exam 2023 Eligibility Criteria for GNM

  • Candidates who have passed 10+2 examination or equivalent from any stream (Science or Arts) from a recognised board (CBSE/ AISSCE/ HSCE/ SSCE/ ICSE) are eligible for application process.

  • Candidates must have studied English as a subject and any elective subject like Health Care Science.

  • The minimum pass percentage required for the course is 40 per cent in aggregate in Science stream subjects along with English. 

  • Candidates from National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS)  are also eligible.
