The HPU B.Ed CET 2026 reservation policy is set by Himachal Pradesh University. Candidates seeking admission to the regular 2-year B.Ed course in the Department of Education, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, Government College of Teacher Education, Dharamshala or any other private/ self-financing Colleges of Education have to follow the reservation policy.

  • As per the rules of the Himachal Pradesh Government, the reservation of seats for SC/ ST/ OBC/ Ex-serviceman/ Wives/ Wards of Ex-Servicemen/ Wives/ Widows/ Wards of Defence Personnel and Physically handicapped categories will be followed.
  • 85% of seats are reserved for the contenders of Bonafide/ Domicile residents of Himachal Pradesh and 15% will be open to the candidates of other states/ UTs. All must produce a bona fide Himachali/ Resident certificate at the time of admission.
  • 10% out of 85% of state quota seats in non-government self-financing institutions are going to be treated as management quota seats and shall be brought out of the domain of centralised counselling to be conducted by the University. The management of the institute shall fill up management quota seats on the basis of the merit of the entrance test and through the counselling round held by them in a transparent manner. There shall be no reservation whatsoever in respect of the prescribed management quota seats. However, the basic eligibility criteria shall remain the same as in the case of other students.
