IBPS Clerk 2019 Selection Process

IBPS Clerk 2019 Selection Process is the process that every aspirant of Clerical Cadre needs to pass if they wish to get selected by top financial institutions and public sector banks.The process will be conducted through the Common Recruitment Process organised by Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). The vacancies will be for more than 100 posts all across the nation. These vacancies will be segregated category-wise and State-wise as per the discretion of the participating organisations. Candidates must know that the selection will be completely based on their performance in the various stages of the process. These stages will help organisations’ to choose the right candidates through a common platform.

To describe in detail, these stages comprise of the Preliminary exam, Mains exam and the Interview or the Final Round. The Selection Process for IBPS Clerk 2019 is about to start with the Preliminary Exam starting from 7th December 2019. After the Prelims, the Mains exam has been scheduled to take place on 20th January 2019. The Final round will take place after the completion of the Mains Examination of IBPS Clerk 2019. IBPS Clerk Preliminary Exam Details

The Preliminary Exam is the first stage or round of the Selection Process of IBPS Clerk 2019. The stage deals with an online examination conducted by IBPS to judge the applicants on common grounds based on their knowledge and skills. The examination is an objective test with a time duration of one hour. The main subjects of this examination consist of English Language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability. It has mostly been reported that the level of competition in this stage is very high. This is due to the number of candidates applying for the examination which usually reaches to lakhs every year. The same is expected to be for this year, therefore, candidates applying for this examination must prepare themselves well and then appear in the examination. After the completion of the Preliminary Exam, the results will be declared. Only the candidates who have successfully given the Prelims can check their IBPS Clerk 2019 Result through their official website. A cut-off list will then be released with the list of the selected candidates eligible for the next stage of Selection Process.

IBPS Clerk Mains Exam Details

The second stage of the Selection Process is the Mains Examination. Candidates clearing the Prelims Cut-Off will be allowed to get their IBPS Clerk 2019 Mains Admit Card. Being the second stage of the Selection Process, the Mains Exam helps in refining the search for the best candidates for the different clerical cadre posts. Like the Prelims, the Mains will also be conducted through the online medium but for a duration of 2 hours 15 minutes (135 minutes). Candidates must go through the Exam Pattern and Syllabus of the Mains exam to understand the paper in a detailed way. The exam, however, consists of subjects like Reasoning, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness (with special reference to Banking) and Computer Knowledge. Candidates who mark their place clear in this exam will be forwarded to the next level round of the Selection Process which also the Final Round selecting the best contenders for the vacant posts.

IBPS Clerk Final Selection

The last stage is the stage of Interview, which is also termed as the Final stage of the Selection Process. The candidates successfully reaching this stage will have to face a round of interview conducted by the participating organisations of IBPS Clerk. Candidates must know that the marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination stage-I will not be added for the selection and only the marks obtained in Main Examination Stage-II will be added to the marks obtained in Interview Stage-III (if the interview is held) for preparation of the final merit list. Final selection will be done on the basis of candidate's performance in the test (main examination) and interview (if the interview is held) taken together.

The results of the candidates who are eligible for Interview and the list of candidates finally selected will be made available on the Bank's website.

  • Printout of the Interview Call Letter
  • System generated printout of the online application
  • Date of Birth proof
  • Identification Proof
  • Mark sheets and certificates (Proper document from Board / University for having declared the result on or before 27.11.2017 has to be submitted)
  • Caste Certificate Documents (If you are belonging to SC/ST/OBC category candidates authorised by Government of India.)
  • Disability certificate (authorised by the District Medical Board)
  • Experience certificates, if any
  • Persons eligible for age relaxation must produce a certificate from the District Magistrate to the effect that they are eligible for relief in terms of the Rehabilitation Package for 1984 Riot Affected
  • Persons sanctioned by the Government.
  • Any other relevant documents.

Important Pointers for IBPS Clerk 2019 Selection Process

  • Candidates who pass in the Main examination will be placed in descending order as per their respective categories and marks.
  • On the basis of the number of vacancies, only certain number of candidates from amongst those who qualify by ranking high enough in the merit will be called for interview in the ratio of maximum 3 candidates for each vacancy.
  • Candidates will have to score minimum percentage marks (to be decided by the bank) in the interview to be considered for final selection.
  • 5% relaxation for reserved (SC/ST/OBC/PWD/XS) category will be available thereon.
  • Interview call letters will be uploaded on the Bank's website after the announcement of the result of the online test.
  • No hard copy of the interview call letter will be sent by post.
