SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria 2024: Candidates aspiring to apply for the SSC CHSL 2024 must adhere to the eligibility criteria set by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) for CHSL recruitment. Candidates must keep in mind the upper and lower age limit for CHSL posts, and it is advisable to read all the eligibility conditions on this page carefully. 

Candidates who fail to meet any of the eligibility criteria mentioned by the exam conducting authorities will be disqualified in the selection process or they may even be barred from appearing for the exam. Candidates must check the eligibility criteria before applying for the exam so that they do not face any issues whatsoever during the entire process for the SSC CHSL recruitment.

SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria 2024 - Age Limit

The age limit for SSC CHSL exam 2024 is as follows -

  • Lower/ Minimum Age Limit: The applicants must be 18 years of age as on January 01, 2024. Candidates who are born after January 01, 2004, are not eligible to appear for the exam.

  • Upper Age Limit: The candidates should not be more than 27 years of age as on January 01, 2024. Candidates who are born before January 02, 1995, are not eligible to appear for the exam.

  • The candidates must note that the above upper age limit is applicable only for General/ Unreserved category candidates.

  • Applicants must be at least class XIIth qualified from any recognised Board

  • Class XIIth appearing students are also eligible to apply for SSC CHSL 2024

Educational Qualification - SSC CHSL 2024 Eligibility Criteria

The details of educational qualification that are required for CHSL 2024 recruitment of SSC is as follows -

  • Candidates applying for the posts such as Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC)/ JSA, PA/ DEO/ SA must have passed Class 12 in Science stream with Mathematics as one of the subjects.
  • Candidates applying for Grade ‘A’ DEO post must have passed Class 12 in Science stream with Mathematics as one of the subjects.
  • Candidates who have passed Class 10/Class 12 through NIOS or Open School Learning mode are also eligible for the SSC CHSL recruitment exam 2024.
  • Candidates pursuing Class 12 are not eligible to appear for the SSC CHSL exam 2024.

SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria 2024 - Important Pointers

Here are some important pointers regarding the SSC CHSL 2024 eligibility criteria which the applicants must keep in mind - 

  • The date of birth of the applicants should not deviate from what is mentioned in their respective class Xth exam certificates

  • All the important documents and certificates must be produced by those applicants those who want age relaxation issued by the competent authorities in the prescribed format during the time of document verification. Failing to produce the relevant certificates and documents mean the applicants will be considered under the General category

  • Ex-servicemen employed in Central Government posts cannot apply under the ESM category (Group C and D posts)

  • The period of ‘Call up Service’ of an ex-serviceman in the Armed Forces will also be considered as service rendered in the Armed Forces for the purpose of age relaxation

  • Sons/Daughters/Dependants of Ex-Servicemen are not eligible to apply under the ESM category

Dear Student,

It is difficult to predict or expect about the SSC CHSL 2021 exam due to the ongoing situation in the country. Once the 2019 recruitment process completes fully, a notification may be released for 2020, and the exam may take place in 2021. The notification will be released only if vacancies are available.
