The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the SSC CHSL selection process through several stages. To participate in this process, candidates must first complete the SSC CHSL application form 2025 and meet the minimum qualifying marks in the SSC CHSL 2025 exam. The commencement of the SSC CHSL 2025 selection process follows the release of the Tier-I final result, which will be released in October/November 2025. Candidates eligible for the SSC CHSL Tier II exam progress to participate in the SSC CHSL selection process. A merit list is compiled based on student performance in the second tier of the SSC CHSL examination. From this list, candidates will be invited to participate in the SSC CHSL 2025 selection process.
To advance to Tier II of the SSC CHSL 2025 exam, candidates must clear the Tier-I exam with the prescribed minimum marks set by the commission. The SSC CHSL 2025 selection process will be segregated into two stages - Tier-I (Computer-Based Test), and Tier II (Descriptive Test and Skill Test. The detailed selection process of SSC CHSL 2023 has been given below:
The tier-I of the SSC CHSL 2025 exam will be a computer-based exam
The SSC CHSL 2025 tier-I exam will comprise four sections - General Intelligence, English Language, General Awareness and General Intelligence
The maximum marks for this exam will be 200
There will also be negative marking in the Tier-I examination (0.50 marks for every wrong attempt)
Candidates qualifying for the Tier-I exam of SSC CHSL 2025 with the minimum required marks will be selected for the SSC CHSL 2025 tier-II exam
In 2025, the SSC CHSL Tier I exam will be given in two sessions on the same day. The first session of the SSC CHSL Tier 2 test will consist of three sections: Section I, Section I, and Section ll. Each session's qualified applicants must take the Tier II exam. You can learn the fundamentals of the Tier II exam's administration by reading the following guidance.
All of the questions in Tier II will be of the Objective Type, Multiple Choice form, with the exception of Module I of Section III, and all but Module II of Section II will be in English or Hindi.
There will be negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer in Section I, Section Il and Module-I of Section Ill. Module I of Section Ill is the Computer Knowledge Test which is essential but qualifying in nature.
Module Il of Section Ill i.e. Skill Test/ Typing Test: Module Il of Section Ill will include conducting of Skill Test/ Typing Test in Session-ll on the same day. Skill Test/ Typing Test will be of qualifying nature.

The qualified candidates have to appear for a document verification process in which they have to submit all their original documents The candidates also have to submit their Department and Post options during the verification of documentsWhile attending the document verification process, the candidates have to carry an original photo identity proof and two recent passport-sized photographs. The photo ID proof can be either of the following:
Voter ID card
Aadhaar card
Passport
PAN card
College/School Id card
Driver’s License
Employer Id (for candidates already employed in Private/PSU/Govt sectors)
Documents that the candidates have to mandatorily submit are as follows:
Class Xth certificate
Class XIIth certificate
In case of an equivalent qualification, the candidates have to produce a letter/order from the competent authority supporting the claim of educational qualification made by the candidates
Certificate proclaiming the category/caste of the candidates
Certificate supporting the claim of being physically disabled (for PwD category candidates)

Applicant's performance in the SSC CHSL Tier 1 and 2 exams will be taken into account while making the final selection and allocating them to a department.
The qualifying candidates will be assigned to the SA, PA, LDC, and DEO seats based on the SSC CHSL merit list. After the position is announced, candidates won't be able to change their preferences.

Candidates qualifying the Tier-II of SSC CHSL 2024 exam will be invited to take part in the third tier of the SSC CHSL 2024 exam. The tier-III of the SSC CHSL 2024 exam will be qualifying in nature. Marks secured by the candidates in this tier will not feature in the final marks obtained by them. The SSC CHSL 2024 tier-III exam is also called Skill Test or Typing Test. Candidates applying for the post of Data Entry Operator have to take the Skill Test. Candidates applying for the post of LDC/ JSA and Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant have to take the Typing Test.
The tier-II of the SSC CHSL 2024 exam will be a descriptive test. The exam will comprise of an essay writing question (200-250 words approximately) and letter writing question (100-150 words approximately). The maximum marks of this exam will be 100. The tier-II SSC CHSL 2024 selection process will be carried out offline.
