TS PECET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

TS PECET eligibility criteria 2026 are designed to make sure that applicants who want to enroll in the B.P.Ed. and D.P.Ed. programs have the academic background, age appropriateness, and physical fitness needed for these rigorous physical education courses. Candidates for admission to the B.P.Ed. program must have a current bachelor's degree from an accredited university and have either taken part in recognized sports contests or studied physical education as an elective. As long as they fulfill all academic requirements before the admissions process ends, students who are in their last year of graduation are also eligible to apply for the TS PECET 2026 exam. Candidates for D.P.Ed. must have passed the intermediate or equivalent exam; final-year intermediate students may also be eligible, provided they provide documentation of their qualifications at the time of admission.

Candidates must be at least 19 years old for B.P.Ed. and 16 years old for D.P.Ed. as of July 1 of the admission year in order to be eligible and there is no upper age limit. All applicants must fulfill the physical fitness criteria and be ready to take the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and the Skill Test in Games since physical training is a fundamental component of the curriculum. Because physical performance is essential for determining appropriateness for these courses, people with physical limitations are ineligible.Candidates must also adhere to Telangana's domicile requirements. Those who fall under reserved categories may receive benefits in accordance with state government regulations by presenting legitimate documents.

Some important instructions regarding the TS PECET exam eligibility criteria have been discussed below - 

• Applicants appearing in their final year degree examination / 10+2 examination must submit their “Pass” certificate to the officials to convert their provisional admission into final admission
• B.P.Ed aspirants who are currently rendering their services as Physical Education Teachers (PETs) need to apply directly to the Director of School Education, Hyderabad via their respective DEOs after the notification is released through a proper channel
• Those who completed their graduation from an open / distance university cannot apply for B.P.Ed admission through TS PECET unless the UGC, AICTE and Distance Education Council joint committee approves their course
