Education Qualification

  • The applicant has completed class 12th under the science stream/Intermediate Science or an equivalent examination from a recognized university/board in India.

  • The following subjects should be included in qualifying examinations: English, physics, chemistry, and biology.

  • A candidate must score at least 55% on the qualifying exam (50% for SC/ST candidates).

  • Candidates who have passed class 12 or its equivalent examination from any recognized board are eligible to apply for BSc Nursing (Post-Basic) or Candidates who have passed class 11 on or before 1996 are also eligible to apply for the AIIMS Post Basic BSc Nursing course.

  • In addition, candidates must be registered with a state nursing council as a nurse, RN, RM (registered nurse, registered midwife).

AIIMS B.Sc. Eligibility Criteria for Foreign nationals

The AIIMS BSc Nursing Exam can be attempted by foreign nationals. However, those students need to meet certain eligibility criteria as stated by AIIMS.   • Candidates who are appearing from outside the country need to fill up the AIIMS BSc Nursing application form through proper diplomatic channels

  • No direct application forms will be accepted by the foreign candidates

  • According to the AIIMS B.Sc. Eligibility Criteria for Foreign Nationals: No separate hostel accommodation will be provided

  • Also, if a candidate is allocated seats in the counselling round but does not meet the AIIMS BSc Nursing Eligibility Criteria 2025, their candidature might be canceled by the AIIMS

  • Foreign nationals are only admitted to AIIMS in New Delhi.

  • OCI candidates are not required to obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC)

AIIMS BSc Eligibility Criteria 2026: Minimum Marks Required in HSC

Note: In the case of AIIMS BSc Nursing Post Basic subjects, candidates need to pass a diploma in midwifery or general nursing with qualifying marks. There is no minimum marks requirement. Also, students who have passed 10+1 on or before 1986, are also eligible to sit for the test.

AIIMS B.Sc Nursing Post-basic Eligibility Criteria 2026

To be eligible for the AIIMS B.Sc Nursing Post-Basic program in 2026, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Educational Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of class 12 under the 10+2 system of education or an equivalent examination from a recognized Board/University.
  • Candidates who passed 10+1 on or before 1986 are also eligible.

Nursing Diploma:

  • Possession of a Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery from any institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council.

Registration Requirements:

  • Candidates must be registered as a nurse, RN (Registered Nurse), and RM (Registered Midwife) with any State Nursing Council.

Additional Requirements for Male Nurses (if passed before 2003):

  • Male candidates, in addition to being registered as a nurse with the State Nursing Council, should have obtained a certificate in General Nursing.

  • Instead of training in Midwifery, male candidates should have undergone training in any one of the following subjects for a period of six months:

  • O.T. Techniques

  • Ophthalmic Nursing

  • Leprosy Nursing

  • TB Nursing

  • Psychiatric Nursing

  • Neurological and Neurosurgical Nursing

  • Community Health Nursing

  • Cancer Nursing
