AIIMS does not allow this, and you must meet the percentage cutoff specifically in English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology combined to be eligible. Below is the detailed AIIMS BSc Nursing 2026 eligibility criteria for your reference.
Particulars | Eligibility Criteria | Expert Advice |
|---|---|---|
Gender | Female Only (for Hons) | If you are a male applicant with a GNM Diploma, then you should not apply. You are eligible for B.Sc Post-Basic or M.Sc Nursing. |
Age Limit | 17 Years as of Dec 31, 2026 | You must be born on or before Dec 31, 2009. If your seventeenth birthday is Jan 1, 2027, your application will be rejected during document verification. |
Qualifying Exam | 10+2 (PCB + English) | You must have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English. Mathematics is allowed as an elective, but is excluded from the aggregate calculation. |
Aggregate Marks | 55% (Gen/OBC/EWS)50% (SC/ST) | AIIMS only calculates the aggregate of P+C+B+English. This is not your "overall" board percentage. Physical Education or CS marks do not help here. |
Current Status | Appearing Candidates | Students appearing for Class 12 Boards in March/April 2026 are eligible to apply, provided they meet the marks criteria upon result declaration. |
You must not mess with “Am I Eligible for Registration” and Will I get a Seat” while you cross-check your eligibility. Many of the students overlook the validity window by category certificates, so make sure you meet the eligibility criteria mentioned below.
Category | After Passing Minimum 12th Aggregate (PCB+E) Eligibility | AIIMS BSc Nursing Minimum Entrance Qualifying Marks | Expert Advice on Category Certificates |
|---|---|---|---|
General / EWS | 55% | 50% | EWS: Must be issued between April 1, 2025, and the 2026 Exam Date. Older certificates are strictly rejected. |
OBC (NCL) | 55% | 45% | OBC: Must be in the Central Government format. State-only OBC certificates will not be accepted during counselling. |
SC / ST | 50% | 40% | SC/ST: Validity is usually lifetime, but the certificate must be issued by a competent authority in the Central format. |
PWBD | Passing Marks | 40% | PWBD: Requires a 40%+ disability certificate verified by an AIIMS-authorised Medical Board. |
Note: AIIMS is famous for its strictness regarding the issue date of reservation certificates. For the 2026 session, if your OBC-NCL or EWS certificate is issued before April 1, 2025, or after the day of the exam, you will be considered as a General category. If your rank doesn't meet the General cutoff, you will lose your seat entirely in the counselling process. Apply for a fresh certificate in April 2026 to be safe.
