GSET selection process is almost similar to other state-level SET exams such as KSET, APSET, HP SET etc. However, the reservation policy of the Gujarat State Government applies to the selection of candidates. Candidates who have attained the minimum qualifying marks in the GSET 2023 shall be considered eligible for the selection process. However, not all the candidates attaining the cutoff marks shall be considered for the award of GSET certificate. Mode of Selection for GSET 2023
The selection process of GSET 2023 is as follows -
- Only 6% of candidates who appear for the GSET exam shall be declared eligible for the award of GSET certificate.
- As per UGC rules, the total number of slots available for Assistant Professorship in Gujarat is 6%. The top 6% of candidates shall be declared eligible for the award of GSET E-Certificate.

Example 1: Let us assume that 260 candidates cleared GSET in English under General category as per the cutoff specified, and the total number of slots available for General category in English subject is 25. At the same, the total number of candidates cleared GSET in General category is 1200. The selection of candidates is done as follows -
Number of Candidates Cleared GSET in English under General Category (X) Total Slots Available for General Category (Divided by) Total Number of Candidates Cleared GSET Exam. The equation as per Example 1 is as follows -
260 X 25 (Divided by) 1200 = 5 (Which means Five Candidates will be awarded GSET E-Certificate in English under General Category)
Example 2: Let us assume that 1800 candidates cleared GSET in Gujarati under SC category as per the cutoff specified above, and the total number of slots available for SC category in Gujarat subject is 100. At the same time, the total number of candidates cleared GSET is 2600. The selection of candidates is done as follows -
Number of Candidates Cleared GSET in Gujarati under SC Category (X) Total Slots Available for SC (Divided by) Total Number of Candidates Cleared GSET Exam. The equation as per Example 2 is as follows -
1800 X 100 (Divided by) 2600 = 69 (Which means 69 candidates will be declared eligible in GSET exam in Gujarati subject).
GSET 2023 E-Certificate
After verifying the documents submitted by the candidates while filling the GSET application form, the exam authority shall issue the GSET certificate to all the candidates who are declared ‘Pass’ as per the selection process mentioned above. The authority will issue E-Certificate to all the candidates and no offline certificate is sent to candidates by post. The candidates need to download the GSET E-Certificate through its official website. The candidates need to enter the Registration Number and Date of Birth to download the GSET E-Certificate.
