Once the Calcutta University 2022 result is declared, the counselling or selection process of Calcutta University entrance examination 2022 will commence. Calcutta University 2022 counselling/selection usually starts in July for all the candidates who have qualified the entrance examination. As a part of the counselling process, it will be mandatory for all the qualified candidates to participate in the counselling cum selection process of Calcutta University 2022.
All the qualified candidates will have to be present at the counselling venue which will be notified after the result declaration. It must be noted by the candidates that Calcutta University (C.U) selection process for various courses will depend on two different categories- Part A and Part B for its three different courses like M.A., M.Com and M.Sc Economics. Additionally, the counselling and selection process of Calcutta University 2022 will be based on the candidates’ performance in the entrance test and the rank or score secured by them in the entrance examination.

The selection process of Calcutta University entrance examination 2022 is classified into two categories, i.e. Part A and Part B. Check out the detailed selection cum counselling process of Calcutta University that is stated in the table given below:
Part A:
This category will have the candidates who are already enrolled as a part of Calcutta University. | The selection of the candidates will be done as per the merit list based on the percentage of marks secured in Honours subject. |

In this category, 60% of the total seats in each course will be there for C.U. students only. | In case there is a tie, the aggregate of marks in general subjects will be taken into consideration. |
Under Part A, Honors Graduates of the Autonomous Colleges affiliated to C.U will be there. | Candidates already enrolled as students in C.U will have the option to either sit for the scheduled Common Entrance Test or opt out of it. For candidates who choose to opt out of the entrance test conducted by C.U, they will be considered for selection under Part A only. |
Part B:
Under this category of candidates, all Non-C.U candidates will come under Part B with 40% of seats being secured for them. | In case of a tie of marks as procured in the written entrance test, selection of candidates will then be based on less negative marking as obtained in the entrance test. Such candidates will be placed in a higher position in the merit list than the ones who obtained more negative mark(s). |
