CU (Calcutta University) Entrance Exam 2025 Eligibility Criteria - Check Age Limit, Marks Required, No of Attempts, Important Factor

Candidates passed from boards other than WBCHSE, ISC, CBSE and Rabindra Mukto Vidyalaya will be required to obtain “Equivalence Certificate” from the Registrar Office, University of Calcutta.

Foreign candidates will be required to provide all their degrees along with the marksheets of their previous institute to the University which will be verified after which they will be called for Interview.

• Candidates with BA (Hons.) degree from another university or Institute can also apply.

• Candidates who have done their Major Course or the candidates who have graduated from the University other than the Calcutta University will also be eligible to apply. For such candidates, they will be required to upload the certificate from their University stating that the Major Course is equivalent to Honours degree.

• Candidates who have passed the Major Course/Honours degree in Arts from Indira Gandhi National Open University, Netaji Subash Open University and Distance Education Programmes of any other Universities of West Bengal are also eligible to apply.

• Candidates who have qualified Pre-MA Examination of Calcutta University are also eligible to apply for admission.

• Calcutta University candidates currently in their last year of three years B.Sc (Hons.) degree course and candidates who have successfully completed their B.Sc (Hons.) degree in the previous year can apply.

• Candidates currently pursuing the Major Course or the candidates who have graduated from the University other than the Calcutta University will also be eligible to apply. For such candidates, they will be required to upload the certificate from their University stating that the Major Course is equivalent to Honours degree.

• Candidates who have passed the Major Course/Honours degree in Science from Indira Gandhi National Open University, Netaji Subhash Open University and Distance Education Programmes of any other Universities of West Bengal are eligible to apply.

• Candidates who have passed the Major Course/Honours degree in Commerce from Indira Gandhi National Open University, Netaji Subash Open University and Distance Education Programmes of any other Universities of West Bengal are also eligible to apply.

• Candidates who are currently pursuing the Major Course or the candidates who have graduated from the University other than the Calcutta University will also be eligible to apply. For such candidates, they will be required to upload the certificate from their University stating that the Major Course is equivalent to Honours degree.
