NCET ITEP 2026 Eligibility Criteria

The National Council for Teachers Education, commonly known as NCTE, has released the official notification for the upcoming National Common Entrance Test (NCET) for the 2026 session. Candidates who want to take part in this exam for admission to the 4-year Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP) must satisfy all the NCET ITEP 2026 eligibility criteria published by the NCTE authority. After passing this single nationwide entrance test, candidates can take admission to a few central universities, state universities, IITs, NITs, and several government colleges in India. As the registration process is going to be conducted soon by the National Testing Agency(NTA), candidates are requested to carefully check the detailed eligibility criteria well in advance.

According to the NCET ITEP eligibility 2026, candidates should have passed their 10+2 standards with a minimum of 50% score from a recognised board. Besides, there will be a central reservation system that will be followed especially for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and other category candidates. These eligibility criteria are defined by the National Council for Teachers Education to offer a transparent and fair admission process to all teaching aspirants.

NCET ITEP Educational Qualification Required

Candidates who have a minimum of 50% marks in their Senior Secondary or +2 examination or its equivalent (under the 5+3+3+4 pattern) from a recognised board are eligible for the NTA ITEP exam.

NCET ITEP Age-based Eligibility Criteria

There is no such age-specific criterion for the NCET ITEP 2026. But candidates must visit the official websites of IITs, NITs, and other institutions for their criteria, if applicable.

NCET ITEP 2026 Reservation Criteria

There will be a reservation system as per government rules, which will be followed for relaxation in marks in  Senior Secondary or Plus Two examination for Scheduled Castes(SC), or Scheduled Tribes(ST), or Other Backward Classes, or Persons with Disabilities, or Economically Weaker Sections.

Apart from this, if any other relevant reservation rules are issued by the Central Government, or State Government, or the Union Territory Administration, those will be followed too, wherever applicable.
