NCET ITEP 2026: Exam Date, Registration, Pattern, Syllabus, Preparation

NCET ITEP 2026 application form registration and the form correction window are closed now. The deadline to submit the application form was March 10, 2026, 11.50 pm, while the payment could be completed by March 11, 11.50 pm. The form correction window was open from March 12 to 14, 2026. The NCET ITEP 2026 admit card is expected soon on the official website. 

NCET 2026 will be conducted on April 17, 2026. To be eligible for NCET ITEP, applicants must have passed or be appearing for Class 12 from a recognised board. Final admission also includes meeting course-specific subject requirements. The exam will be held in Computer-Based Test mode, where students must attempt language-based, domain-specific, general test, and aptitude-related sections. Overall, there are 181 questions, out of which you have to answer 160. For every correct answer, students get +4, while for every incorrect response, no mark is deducted.

Admission to the participating colleges is done through counselling at NCTE-approved institutes offering BA B.Ed, BSc B.Ed, and BCom-B.Ed courses. NCET scores are a must to be considered for seat allotment, while universities may have their own rules to be fulfilled during counselling and final document verification.

NCET ITEP is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency for admission to the 4-year Integrated Teacher Education Programme across India. The programme is approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and is offered only at selected Central and State Universities, IITs, NITs, Government Colleges, and Regional Institutes of Education. Through ITEP, you can pursue a Dual Major programme, studying both a core subject such as Arts, Science or Commerce, along with professional education training.

The applicants must meet the NCET ITEP eligibility criteria must be met to be able to apply for the exam and gain admission. You must have completed Class 12 or equivalent from a recognised board. Besides, you should have studied subjects relevant to the course you wish to pursue, such as Arts, Science or Commerce. 

Those awaiting Class 12 results can also send their applications, provided they submit their mark sheet during counselling. There is no upper age limit for NCET ITEP. However, final admission is subject to the fulfilment of specific eligibility rules set by individual universities during counselling. You must keep documents ready for verification, such as Class 10 and 12 certificates, category certificates (if applicable) and ID proof.

The NCET ITEP application form is now closed, along with the correction window. Before form filling, you are required to register and generate your login credentials. To complete the application process, make sure to complete all the sections of the form, upload the documents, and pay the fee. After submission, the confirmation page must be saved for future use.

The NCET ITEP exam pattern must be known to the aspirants preparing for the test. The exam is conducted in Computer-Based mode and contains multiple MCQs. The question paper is divided into Language, Domain Specific, General Test, and Teaching Aptitude. Out of a total of 181 questions, you must answer 160 within a duration of 180 minutes. The exam is conducted in 13 different languages across India. Negative marking is not applicable in this exam.

The NCET ITEP admit card is expected to be released soon on the official website. It is mandatory to appear for the test along with a Government-issued photo ID card. It is typically released a few days before the exam. Students must download it from the official portal using their application number and date of birth. 

The NCET ITEP hall ticket contains important exam details such as reporting time, centre address and instructions. Exam takers should carry photo ID proof and follow all guidelines strictly to avoid any inconvenience on exam day.

NCET ITEP exam centres are located across the country in more than 175 cities. During the application process, applicants have to choose any 2 cities as per their preference.

NTA makes every effort to allocate the city of examination as per the order of preference opted in the NCET application form. In certain circumstances, such as administrative or logistical reasons, a different city may be assigned to the exam takers. To know which venue has been allocated, you have to check your NCET ITEP admit card.

The NCET ITEP answer key is released in 2 phases - initially, the provisional and later the final. To download it along with the response sheet, students must visit the official portal and log in to their NCET accounts. Those who find any objections related to the preliminary key, examinees can submit their concerns during the grievance window. 

The final/ revised answer key of NCET ITEP is issued after considering the complaints raised by the conducting body. With the help of the preliminary key and the response sheet, exam takers can cross-check their answers and find out their approximate scores.

The NCET result is typically published in June every year. The scorecard shows section-wise marks of the aspirants. Those who qualify in the exam are eligible for further admission through university counselling. NCET ITEP results can be checked online only, and the mark card must be printed for the counselling process.

NCTE has approved a growing number of universities across India to offer ITEP. These include Central and State Universities, IITs, NITs, Regional Institutes of Education and Government Colleges. Seat intake per course is typically 50 to 100. Admission is decided based on the preferences of the aspirants, course and seat availability.
