The NCET ITEP 2026 syllabus is now officially available for candidates. As the NCET ITEP 2026 exam is expected to be conducted in the 4th week of April 2026, candidates should start their preparation well in advance. The syllabus for the 4-year-long Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP) focuses on language, general test, teaching aptitude, and domain-specific subjects. There will be a total of 181 questions, but candidates need to answer 160 questions within 3 hours.
Candidates should strictly start their preparation by following the NCET ITEP syllabus 2026 from good and up-to-date books. The Domain-specific subjects in the NCET ITEP exam are generally based on the Class 12 or Senior Secondary level syllabus. It is highly recommended to use the NCERT Class 11 and 12 textbooks for comprehensive and foundational subject preparation.
In the NCET ITEP exam, all sections are important, but Domain Subjects collectively account for 75 attempted questions, making them a high-priority area. The General Test and Teaching Aptitude sections are compulsory and measure crucial foundational skills, so balanced preparation is necessary.
The NCET ITEP exam Teaching Aptitude section covers core areas essential for educators, including the teaching-learning process, child development, and classroom management. It also assesses the foundational knowledge required for school education.
For the NCET ITEP exam, candidates must choose any two languages from the comprehensive list of 38 languages provided in the official syllabus. Each language section will contain 23 questions, and the candidate must attempt 20 questions in each.
The four main sections of the syllabus are Language (2 to be chosen), Domain-Specific Subjects (3 to be chosen), the mandatory General Test, and the mandatory Teaching Aptitude section. The exam will have a total of 181 questions, out of which candidates must attempt 160.
