OPSC Civil Services Exam 2019 Selection Process

The selection process for Group A & B services of Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) is based on the OPSC Civil Services Examination 2019. The selection process of the exam is spread over three stages such as Preliminary exam, Mains exam and Personality Test. The candidates must clear all the stages involved in the Odisha (OPSC) Civil Services Exam 2019 to be eligible for the recruitment. OPSC Selection Process Stage 1

Firstly, the candidates will have to appear for the Preliminary exam conducted by OPSC, i.e., OPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2019. The candidates will have to clear the Prelims exam to be eligible for the subsequent rounds of the selection process. The candidates will have to score a minimum of 33% of marks in Paper II of Prelims so that his/ her Paper I answer sheet shall be evaluated. Once the prelims result is out, OPSC releases a list of candidates who are shortlisted for the Mains exam, i.e., Stage 2.

Secondly, the candidates who are shortlisted after the prelims exam will have to appear for the Mains examination of OPSC, i.e., OPSC Civil Services Mains Exam 2019. The candidates will have to score a minimum cutoff mark specified by the commission to be eligible for the subsequent stage of the selection process. The cutoff for Mains exam shall be fixed by the commission. Once the Mains exam results of OPSC are released, the commission releases a list of candidates who are shortlisted for Interview or Personality Test, i.e., Stage 3 of the selection process.

OPSC Selection Process Stage 3

The final stage in the OPSC selection process is the Interview or Personality Test. Candidates who are shortlisted on the basis of the cutoff mark in Mains are called for Interview. The Personality Test is conducted for 250 marks and there is no minimum cutoff fixed by commission for the Personality Test. The candidates will be selected on the basis of his/ her performance in the Interview.

After the interview, a final selection list will be released by the commission, and the candidates who are featured in the final list of OPSC shall be considered for the recruitment.
