RIE CEE 2024 Eligibility Criteria

RIE CEE eligibility criteria 2024 will be specified by the conducting authority on the official website along with the notification for the exam. Aspirants are advised to check the requirements for eligibility before filling out the application form for RIE CEE 2024.

Through RIE CEE, candidates are provided admission in teaching courses like 2 Year B.Ed, B.Ed-M.Ed, M.Ed, BA B.Ed, B.Sc B.Ed, M.Sc M.Ed, offered at Prarambh and Regional Institute of Education at Bhubaneswar, Ajmer, Mysore, Shillong, Bhopal etc. Please note the RIE CEE 2024 eligibility criteria will be different for the various offered courses. RIE CEE 2024 Stream-Wise Eligibility

To get qualified to sit in the RIE CEE 2024, the candidates need to fulfil certain eligibility criteria as prescribed by the NCERT Examination Board. The eligibility criteria which the candidates need to fulfil for different streams/ courses are specified below - 

B.Ed

  • For B.Ed application, candidates must have achieved a minimum of 50% marks in a Bachelor’s Degree and/ or in Master’s Degree in Science/ Social Science/ Humanities. Applicants with Bachelors in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Mathematics or Science are also eligible to apply. For SC/ ST/ PwD aspirants, the least marks is 45%.

B.Sc + B. Ed

  • Candidates willing to apply for B.Sc B.Ed for the Physical Science group must have completed 10 + 2 or similar examinations with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics(PCM).
  • Applicants seeking admission for the Biological Science group (CBZ), must have cleared 10 + 2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Biotechnology. (PCB) 
  • They must have achieved a minimum of 50% marks from a recognised institution/ Board. Candidates from the SC/ ST/ PwD must have secured at least 45% marks. The qualifying examination must be approved by the RIE’s affiliating universities. 

BA + B. Ed

  • To be eligible for the BA B.Ed programme for RIE CEE 2024, the candidate must have passed a graduation or postgraduation or 12th level exam in any stream (Science, Commerce or Humanities) with a minimum aggregate of 50% (45% for the reserved candidates) in the qualifying exam.
  • The candidates appearing for the final exam in class 12th can also apply for the test. 

M.Sc Ed

  • To get eligible for M.Sc Ed in RIE CEE 2024, the candidate must have passed the 12th level exam with major subjects such as Physics and Mathematics and one of the optional subjects as statistics/ Biology/ Biotechnology from a recognised Institute/ Board.
  • The candidate must have acquired a minimum aggregate of 50% (45% for the reserved candidates) in the qualifying exam.
  • The candidates appearing for the final exam in class 12th can also apply for the test.

M.Ed

  • Candidates applying for the M.Ed programme in RIE CEE 2024 must have passed a graduation level degree in B.Ed./ B.A.Ed/ B.A.Ed/ B.Sc Ed/ B.El.Ed / D.El.Ed in any stream from a recognised Institute.
  • The candidate must have acquired a minimum aggregate of 50% (45% for the reserved candidates) in the qualifying exam.

B.Ed-M.Ed

Candidates must have completed a postgraduate degree in Science/ Social Science/ Humanity from an approved institution with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade. For SC/ ST/ PwD applicants, the minimum mark is 50%.

RIE CEE 2024 Reservation Policy

According to the rules set by the Government of India, candidates who belong to certain categories are admitted based on the seats reserved for them based on relaxed criteria. Find out the reservation criteria from the table below. 

The candidates who are applying under the reservation quota will be considered for admission only based on the lists notified by the Government of India and the category certificate/ PwD certificate in the format approved by the Government of India and issued by the competent administration. OBC candidates have to attach a certificate from a competent authority stating that he/ she does not belong to Creamy Layer to be considered under the reserved category.

Candidates completing their Class XIIth qualification (or equivalent qualification) from a recognised Board with at least 50% aggregate are eligible for the RIE CEE B.A+B.E course.

Yes, those candidates who completed their HSC level (Or equivalent) studies in the year 2018 are eligible for the RIE CEE 2020 B.Sc+B.Ed course.

Reserved category candidates like SC/ST/PwD candidates are given 5% relaxation in qualifying marks in the RIE CEE exam.

What is the percentage of seats reserved for PwD category candidates in the RIEs?

5% of the total seats are reserved for PwD category candidates in the RIEs who qualify the RIE CEE test.

Do the reserved category candidates have to submit their caste/PwD certificate during admission?

Yes, the reserved category candidates have to submit their Caste/PwD certificate, issued by the competent authority and approved by the government of India, at the time of admission.

Who prescribes the eligibility criteria for RIE CEE?

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) prescribes the eligibility criteria for RIE CEE.

How can qualifying exam appearing candidates apply for RIE CEE?

Qualifying exam appearing candidates can enter the value of “Zero” in the minimum and maximum marks column and continue applying for the RIE CEE entrance test.

Which institutes offer admission to candidates on the basis of RIE CEE exam scores?

Regional Institutes of Education in Shillong, Mysore, Bhubaneswar, Bhopal, Ajmer and Prarambh State Institute of Advanced Studies in Teacher Education, Haryana offer admission to candidates on the basis of RIE CEE scores.

What are the minimum and maximum age to apply for RIE CEE entrance test?

There are no minimum and maximum age eligibility criteria to apply for RIE CEE specified by the NCERT.

I visited the NCERT CEE portal for submitting my marks but the application form is locked and a note is being displayed as you have to submit the qualifing marks before the last date.How to unlock the application form?

Dear Student,

RIE CEE 2020 form will be unlocked to update the Class 12th marks soon. The last date to fill the application form is August 10, 2020. As of now, the Class 12th marks can be edited by using the 'Login'. If you are unable to edit your 12th marks through Login, you can contact the helpline through 81094 26798.

Is the course in correspondence mode or regular classes mode ..the Rie course

RIE (Regional Institutes of Education) do not offer correspondence B.Ed course. The candidates will have to attend the classes regularly. The admission process for RIEs is based on RIE CEE entrance exam. The last date to register for the entrance exam is August 10, 2020.
