UPTET Preparation Strategy and Study Plan

UPTET is not a difficult exam to crack, and scoring 90 marks out of 150 can be everyone’s cup of tea. In order to help the candidates with the preparation strategy of UPTET 2019, we have charted out some tips and tricks that will help the candidates to score higher marks in the exam.

UPTET Preparation Strategy for Child Development and Pedagogy

  • D.Ed or B.Ed graduates can easily ace this subject, i.e., Child Development and Pedagogy.
  • The exam takers must note that he/ she must focus on the D.Ed/ B.Ed syllabus.
  • Child Development and Pedagogy is one of the major subjects in D.Ed and B.Ed so revising the syllabus of the respective subject is enough to score 25-28 marks out of 30.
  • A candidate with good revision and preparation can easily score 25+ marks in this section.
  • The subject has 10 chapters (approximately), and one can complete the revision of all chapters in 10 days (one chapter per day).

UPTET Preparation Strategy for Mathematics, Language and EVS (Paper I)

  • Candidates appearing for Paper I must note that Mathematics, Language (Hindi & English), Environmental Studies are the compulsory subjects.
  • Firstly, the candidates need to get ready with the Class 1 - 8 textbooks of English, Mathematics, Hindi and General Science (I - V).
  • Almost all the questions from these subjects in the UPTET exam will be based on the syllabus of respective classes, and the candidates can easily score 80% of marks in these sections.
  • When it comes to English, the candidates should be thorough with the basic grammar topics such as Antonyms, Synonyms, Active and Passive Voice, Direct & Indirect Speech, Vocabulary, Simple, Compound and Complex Sentences, Idioms, Comprehension Passage etc.
  • When it comes to Mathematics, the major focus on the syllabus of Class 1 - 8.
  • The same applies to the Environmental Science section too. The candidates need to focus on the syllabus of Class 1 - V, and the topics can include Solar System, Weather, Climate Changes, Evaporation, Precipitation, Condensation, Types of Rainfall, Types of Soil etc.
  • When it comes to Hindi, the candidates can focus on basic grammar topics.

 

UPTET Preparation Strategy for English and Hindi (Paper II)

  • When it comes to English, the candidates need to focus on the topics of Class VI - 10. The grammar topics for Paper II English are bit advanced, and Vocabulary knowledge plays a vital role. At the same time, Antonyms, Synonyms etc must be given equal priority.
  • There will be some questions on the methods of teaching English/ English Methodology. The candidates can expect five questions from English Methodology. B.Ed syllabus of English Methodology can be revised, and it is easy to score full marks in this section.
  • The candidates must also note that Reading Comprehension also has good weightage in the UPTET.
  • The same case is with the Hindi language. The candidates need to focus on the Hindi subject syllabus of Class 1- 10.

UPTET Preparation Strategy for Social Studies

  • As far as Social Studies concerned, the major focus should be given to the Social syllabus of Class VI - X.
  • The candidates must understand that equal importance shall be given to Geography, History, Civics and Economics (Class Vi - X) syllabus.
  • Apart from the subject-based questions, candidates can expect 10 questions from ‘Methods of Teaching Social Studies’. For this topic, the candidates need to revise the syllabus of B.Ed of the respective subject.
  • It is easy to score 50+ marks out of 60 in this subject.

UPTET Preparation Strategy for Mathematics and Science

  • As far as Mathematics and Science subjects concerned, the candidates should mostly focus on Mathematics/ Science syllabus of Class VI - X.
  • Apart from the subject-based questions, candidates can expect 10 questions from ‘Methods of Teaching Science/ Mathematics’. For this topic, the candidates need to revise the syllabus of B.Ed of the respective subject.
  • It is easy to score 50+ marks out of 60 in this subject.
