UPTET Eligibility Criteria 2024 (Available in English & Hindi)

UPTET Eligibility Criteria 2024: The general eligibility criteria which should be essentially fulfilled by the candidates to appear for the UPTET 2024 exam are given below. UPTET 2024 Exam will be conducted in two parts i.e. Paper I and Paper II. These two papers are subject to individual eligibility conditions. UPTET 2024 Eligibility- Nationality, Age Limit, Educational qualifications

The Essential Conditions which a candidate should fulfifulfill

• Nationality: Candidates who are applying for UPTET 2024 must be citizens of India/Nepal/ Bhutan/Tibet. Eligible candidates who reside outside of Uttar Pradesh can also apply for UPTET, the candidate doesn't need to possess the to appear for the UPTET exam.
• Age Limit: The age limit as prescribed for UPTET 2024 is 18-35 years.
• Educational Qualification: Applicant must possess a UGC-recognized bachelor’s degree in Education (B.Ed, D.Ed, BTC, etc.) with minimum 50% marks. Candidates who completed their D.EI.Ed through correspondence/distance education mode might not be eligible for UPTET 2024. 

UPTET 2024 Eligibility Criteria for Primary Teachers (Paper I)

Domicile Rules

Applicant should be a citizen of India/Nepal/Bhutan/Tibet. Eligible candidates who reside outside of Uttar Pradesh can also apply for UPTET as it is not necessary for candidates to have a UP Domicile certificate to appear for UPTET 2024 exam.

Educational Qualification

• Candidate should have completed Bachelor’s degree with minimum 50% marks from a recognized university & 2 years Diploma (D.Ed) as per  N.C.T.E norms/ Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) OR
• Candidate should have completed Bachelor’s degree & 2 years B.T.C, C.T. (Nursery)/ Nursery Teacher Training (NTT) OR
• Candidate should have completed Bachelor’s degree & should be qualified in  Special B.T.C. Training OR
• Candidate should have completed Bachelor’s degree with 2 years & BCT Urdu special training in Uttar Pradesh OR
• Candidate should have completed Bachelor’s degree and Diploma in Teaching/ Moallim-E-Urdu Degree from Aligarh Muslim University (For Urdu Teacher) before 11-08-1997

 Qualifications forSanskrit & English teachers (Classes I-V)

• Candidate should have completed Bachelor’s degree with Sanskrit or English as the main subject AND
• Candidate should also have completed B.T.C from NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education) approved institute OR
• Candidate should hold a Diploma (D.El.Ed.) from N.C.T.E/ Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) approved institute OR
• Candidate should have completed 2-year C.T (Nursery)/ Nursery Teacher Training (NTT) from NCTE approved institute

 Qualifications for Urdu teacher (Classes I-V)

• Candidate should have completed Bachelor’s or Post Graduate Degree with Urdu as main the subject from a recognized university AND
• Candidate should have also completed B.T.C from NCTE-approved institute in Uttar Pradesh OR
• Candidate should have completed BTC (2 years) in Urdu training in Uttar Pradesh OR
• Candidate should hold a Moallim-E-Urdu Degree holder before 11-08-1997.

UPTET 2024 Eligibility Criteria for Upper Primary Teacher (Paper II)

The eligibility criteria for the UPTET Paper-II exam (Upper Primary Teacher) can be checked below -

Domicile Rules

Applicant should be a citizen of India/Nepal/Bhutan/Tibet. Eligible candidates who reside outside of Uttar Pradesh can also apply for UPTET. This means that possessing the UP Domicile is not a necessary condition to appear for UPTET 2024 exam.

Educational Qualification

• Candidate should have completed Bachelor’s degree & B.T.C from National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) approved institute OR
• Candidate should have completed Bachelor’s degree with minimum 50% marks & B.Ed/ B.Ed Special Education from Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) OR
• Candidate should have completed Intermediate (10+2) with minimum 50% marks & 4 year B.A/ B.S.C.Ed/ B.A.Ed from N.C.T.E./ U.G.C recognized institute OR
• Candidate should have completed Intermediate (10+2) with minimum 50% marks & 4 year Degree (B.El.Ed) in Primary Education OR
• Candidate should have completed Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 45% & B.Ed degree

 Qualifications forSanskrit & English teachers (Classes VI-VIII)

• Candidate should have completed Bachelor’s degree with Sanskrit/English as the main subject AND B.T.C./ C.T. (Nursery) from an NCTE-approved institute  OR
• Candidate should have completed Bachelor’s degree with Sanskrit/English as the main subject and minimum 50% marks AND B.Ed / B.Ed special degree from NCTE/RCI approved institute  OR
• Candidate should have completed Bachelor’s degree with Sanskrit/English as the main subject and minimum 45% marks AND B.Ed Degree

 Qualifications for Urdu teacher (Classes VI-VIII )

• Candidate should have completed Bachelor’s or Post Graduate Degree with Urdu as main the subject from a recognized university AND
• Candidate should have also completed B.T.C from NCTE-approved institute in Uttar Pradesh OR
• Candidate should have completed B.Ed/B.Ed Special Degree from NCTE/RCI approved institute OR
• Candidate should have completed BTC (2 years) in Urdu training in Uttar Pradesh OR
• Candidate should hold a Moallim-E-Urdu Degree holder before 11-08-1997
• Candidate should hold a Diploma in Teaching from Aligarh Muslim University
