APSET 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who aspire to ace the APSET 2024 examination should be well aware of the eligibility criteria that have to be fulfilled by them to appear for the same. Every examination has a set of eligibility criteria which is prescribed by the examination conducting authority. Andhra University which conducts it on behalf of the Government of Andhra Pradesh is responsible for prescribing the eligibility criteria for APSET 2024. 

The APSET eligibility criteria for the year 2024 comprises the marks to be secured by the candidates in the requisite qualifying examination, age limit, and qualifying examination. Candidates are advised to know the detailed information related to the APSET eligibility criteria before appearing for the APSET 2024 examination.  We have provided all the details related to the topic in the section below. 

Once the candidates fulfill the eligibility criteria framed by the designated authority of the entrance test, they can proceed with the APSET 2024 application form.

APSET 2024 General Eligibility Norms

Given below are the general eligibility criteria of APSET 2024 which must be fulfilled by the candidates to successfully apply to appear in the APSET 2024 exam -

  • The candidates willing to appear in the APSET 2024 entrance test should secure minimum aggregate marks of 55% in their Master’s degree or any of the equivalent examinations from any of the UGC recognized universities or institutions. It is to be noted that the required marks for the students who apply under reserved categories like Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Persons with disabilities (PWD) is 50%. 

  • Candidates who have already appeared or will be appearing in the final examination of their Master degree or any other equivalent qualifying exam can also appear in APSET 2024. The selection or qualifying status of such candidates will be confirmed once they pass all the subjects in the final year Masters degree course. The minimum qualifying mark in a Masters degree is 55% for General category students and 50% for reserved category students.

  • The candidates who have a Ph.D. degree and have completed their Master’s degree by 19th September 1992 are also eligible to appear in the APSET examination 2024. They will also be offered a relaxation of 5% on the minimum marks required.

  • There is no upper age limit for the candidates to appear in the APSET 2024 exam. 

  • Lastly, the candidates who have already qualified in UGC NET or the APSET examination are not considered eligible to appear in the same subject.

Note: The verification of the required documents is not done by the APSET office. The candidates should still find out if they fulfill all the eligibility criteria as declared by the examination conducting authority. In case the ineligibility is detected, the candidature of the student can get cancelled and it might lead to legal actions.

Dear candidate, it is not mandatory for you to submit a NOC signed by the District Educational Officer (DEO). If you fulfil all the required AP SET eligibility criteria, then you can appear in the eligibility test which is expected to be conducted on the 06th of December 2020.
