About CA Final 2026

The CA Final exam 2026 dates for the January session have been officially announced. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India will conduct the CA Final 2026 examination in January 2026. For Group 1, the CA Final exam 2026 will be held on January 5, 7, and 9, 2026, and for Group 2 of the CA Final 2026, the exam dates are January 11, 13, and 16, 2026. The CA Final registrations 2026 will begin from November 3, 2025, and will continue till November 16, 2025 (without a late fee).

To be eligible to sit for the CA Final 2026 examination, students will be required to clear both, CA Foundation and CA Intermediate examinations. The CA Final admit card 2026 is expected to be released in mid-December 2025. No student will be allowed to enter the examination hall without the CA Final hall ticket 2026. In case a student wishes to make changes/modifications to their CA Final form after the registration deadline has closed, they can use the CA Final correction window from November 20 to 22, 2025, to make the necessary changes.

Those who qualify in both the groups of CA Intermediate and Self-Paced Online Module examinations and complete the practical training are eligible to appear for the CA Final. What is ICAI CA Final Exam?

To become a Chartered Accountant in India, students appear for the CA examinations. The CA Final examination is the last step after the CA Foundation and CA Intermediate examinations. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) conducts this exam thrice a year - January, May, and September. CA Final 2026 Eligibility

Some of the major pointers related to the CA Final eligibility criteria 2026 are given as follows:

  • Qualify for the CA Foundation (not applicable for Direct Entry Route examinees) and the CA Intermediate examination.
  • Finish at least 8 months of theoretical education for the CA Intermediate course.
  • Pass both the groups of the CA Intermediate examination with a minimum of 40% in each paper, and the overall aggregate must be 50%.
  • Complete ICITSS (Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills) before starting Practical Training.
  • Register for Practical Training for 2 years.
  • Then applicants can register for the CA Final course and pass the online examination for the 4 Self-paced Online Modules with at least 50% marks in each paper.
  • After finishing the Practical Training for 2 years, candidates have to join and qualify for the Advanced ICITSS, which has to be done before appearing for the CA Final examination.
  • Once the online exam form is live, they can apply to appear for the CA Final. However, the examinees must maintain a gap of at least 6 months after the conclusion of the Practical Training/ Articleship to take the CA Final examination.
  • They must qualify for both groups of the CA Final examination to become a member.

CA Final 2026 Registration

To complete the CA Final registrations 2026, students can visit the official portal of ICAI @icai.org to access the Self-Service Portal (SSP). Here is a step-wise process to complete the CA Final registration process 2026:

  • Click open the ICAI website at icai.org or icai.org/post/students-services.
  • Look for the e-services menu and choose “Student Services”.
  • Click on the registration form link, review the instructions, and fill out the details.
  • To register, candidates have to provide their mobile phone number and email address to generate their login credentials.
  • Once done, they can then sign in to the portal and add the required information. Additionally, they have to submit self-attested documents/ certificates online within the Self-Service Portal.
  • The applicants must pay the registration fee to finalize their CA Final 2026 registration.
  • Also, please note that they have to sign up for the self-paced online module at the time of the CA Final registration.
  • The CA Final registration form will include the facility to pick up the subject for Sets C and D under the self-paced online module.
  • No separate charges are required to be paid for the self-paced online modules (Sets A, B, C, and D).

Applicants who have finished their articleship/ practical training and other fulfilled other requirements can fill out the CA Final exam form once it is available. Check out the main steps:

  • Students must visit the ICAI official portal and log in to the SSP.
  • They will find the relevant link (CA Final exam form) there. 
  • They must read the instructions and fill out the CA Final 2026 exam form.
  • After entering the particulars, they must review the data.
  • In the final step, they must pay the exam fee via the suggested payment methods, such as Visa/ Mastercard/ Debit card/ Credit Card.

CA Final 2026 Exam Pattern

The major highlights related to the CA Final exam pattern 2026 are as follows:

  • According to the CA Final exam pattern, there are 2 groups with a total of 6 papers.
  • Each paper has multiple sections with different weightages.
  • Papers 1 to 5 will have a mix of objective and subjective questions. There will be 30 marks on MCQs and 70 marks on descriptive questions.
  • In Paper 6, there will be 40 marks on MCQs and 60 marks on subjective questions.
  • Exam takers have to mandatorily answer the MCQs, which will be mostly case-study based.
  • There is no negative marking in MCQs.
  • For the descriptive questions, there will be 6 questions overall. Out of the 6 questions, number 1 is compulsory, while 4 out of the remaining 5 have to be answered. Each descriptive question will carry 14 marks. (This applies to Papers 1 to 5). 
  • Papers 1 to 5 will be closed-book examinations.
  • The CA Final exam duration for Papers 1 to 5 is 3 hours each.
  • In Paper 6, students will have to attempt case studies. Out of 5 case studies, examinees will have to work through 4. For this paper, the case studies will be of 25 marks each, and it will be an open-book examination. 
  • The duration for Paper 6 is 4 hours.
