The admissions in the various courses will start after the declaration of BHU PET 2019 results. The BHU Counselling 2019 will be conducted in the month of July. The BHU PET 2019 admissions will depend on the merit secured by the candidates in the BHU PET 2019 and the availability of seats in the courses. The counselling of BHU 2019 will be held online. Selected candidates will be informed by the call Letter sent by Banaras Hindu University admission authority.
The counselling of BHU will be conducted in order of merit scores of qualified candidates.
The admission procedure will be done by the Admission Committees of the respective departments. The concerned Head of the Department/Coordinator will issue electronic call letters to the candidates for Counselling.
Once the electronic call letters are issued, the shortlisted candidates may download the call letters by logging in into the official website of BHU. Once candidates have logged in, they can scroll to Entrance Test Column where they will get their call letter. Candidates are advised to check their name and roll numbers before downloading the call letter.
Information about the Call Letter will be sent to the candidates’ registered email IDs and mobile numbers. Therefore, candidates are advised to give correct e-mail addresses and mobile number at the time of submitting the application form.
Candidates may also note that there is no postal dispatch of call letters.
The number of call letters will approximately be two-four times more than the number of seats available in the course. Admission will be based strictly on merit index obtained in the entrance test.
The counselling procedure involves the following steps:
Every candidate called for counselling for admission to a course are required to fill up an online Preference Entry Form which is available and active on the candidates' segment of the Entrance Test Portal for online preference entry after they have received the password.
In the Preference Entry Form, a candidate is required to give his/her preference of the following:
Choice of Course: This preference option will be available only if admission to more than one course is done based on merit obtained in a Common Test.
Preference of location: This preference option will be available only if a course runs at more than one location.
Seat Type: Whether the candidate wants the seats with regular fee only or he/she is willing to take admission in Paid Seat if the regular fee seats are full. This preference option will not be available for Special Courses of Study and certain other regular/professional programmes.
Candidates should reach the counselling venue at the prescribed time and date mentioned in the call letter. Candidates should contact the Counselling Centre or Venue Incharge and mark their attendance by signing the attendance sheet available with the Counselling Centre Incharge.
After preference entry form gets finalised, candidates should get its printout, sign it and submit it along with other required original documents at the Verification Desk.
Once the Preference Entry Form is signed and confirmed by a candidate on the counselling sate, it becomes final and is not applicable to be changed later.
If a meritorious candidate of the reserved category is called for counselling along with general category candidates, then his/her claim on seats shall remain intact.
The admission letter will show the course in which candidates are provisionally admitted on the date of counselling, the amount of admission fee to be paid and the deadline for fee payment.
In case candidates are provisionally admitted to a special Course of Study or on Paid Seat, they will be required to pay the Special Course/ Paid Seat fee in addition to a regular fee of the Course.
