CA Foundation 2026 Application Form (Correction Window Open for January Session)

The CA Foundation application form is released on the official website, www.icai.org, thrice a year for candidates to appear for the CA Foundation exam. The exam is conducted in three sessions - January, May and September.

The CA Foundation 2025 online exam application form for the January examination was released on November 3, 2025. The last date to submit the online exam forms without a late fee was November 16 and with a late fee by November 19. The form correction window is available from November 20 to 22, 2025. 

While filling out the CA Foundation application form, you are required to have certain personal and educational documents for verification purposes. After completing the application form, you will also have to pay an application fee, without which your CA foundation application form will not be accepted.

Steps to Fill CA Foundation 2026 Application Form

Here is the step-by-step guide to fill the CA Foundation application form 2026 for your reference.

Step 1: Candidates need to visit the ICAI official website icai.org and click on the ‘Self Service Portal’ (SSP) tab on top of the page in red colour.

Step 2: A sign-in screen will appear from where the existing candidates can login using their login credentials whereas the new students will need to register first, by clicking on ‘New Student’ enrolling for the first time ‘Click Here’.

Step 3: Now, a login screen will appear in which they must start filling the required details.

Step 4: Before providing the required details, candidates are also recommended to read the important notes given carefully. They must know that they cannot change any detail entered by them after form submission, so they need to be very careful and must recheck the application form before submitting it. Once the required details are filled on this page, they have to click on ‘Generate OTP’.

Step 5: After clicking on generate OTP, a confirmation window will pop up. Candidates who have provided the wrong mobile number by mistake need to click on the ’cancel’ button and change their mobile number. However, if they have entered the correct number and have received the OTP, then they need to click on the ’ok’ button.

Step 6: After that a captcha verification window will appear on the screen. Candidates will be required to enter the capture displayed on the image and click on ‘submit’ to receive ‘OTP’.

Step 7: Now, an OTP (one time password) will be generated and sent to the candidate’s registered email address and mobile number. After receiving the OTP, they will have to enter it in and click on ‘validate OTP’.

Step 8: Thereafter, the email and OTP have been validated. 

Step 9: After this, the login ID and password will be sent to the registered email ID as entered. Candidates can now login on the login page with the same credentials

Step 10: Now, the student’s profile window will pop up on the screen. Candidates need to click on the ‘student cycle’ option. 

Step 11: After clicking, the student module window will appear. Next, candidates will have to click on the ‘Apply for Foundation' tab. 

Step 12: Thereafter, the CA foundation application form will be there on the screen. Candidates will be required to enter all the details carefully and make the requisite payment fee through the payment gateway. Only when the payment is received, the CA foundation application form will be considered complete, and the application form will go for approval to ICAI. All the candidates will receive our email about the approval of the registration form by ICAI in a few days. 

Documents Required for CA Foundation 2026 Application Form

While filling the CA Foundation 2026 application form, candidates will be required to provide several documents which need to be original. These documents will have to be uploaded in a prescribed format along with the application form for verification purposes.

Some of the documents required for the CA Foundation application form are as follows.

• Scanned copy of recent passport size photograph
• Scanned copy of signature
• Marksheet and certificate of class 10th
• Marksheet and certificate of class 12th
• Attested copy of proof of identity (Aadhaar card)
• Attested copy of proof of residence (any one - Aadhaar Card, Driving License, Passport, Voter ID etc)
• Attested copy of proof of nationality, if a student is a foreigner
• Transfer certificate
• Character certificate
• Caste category certificate for SC/ ST/ OBC candidates
• Differently abled certificate, if applicable

CA Foundation 2026 Application Fees

The CA Foundation application form will only be accepted when the application fee is paid through the provided payment gateway. The payment is completely online and candidates can use credit card/ debit card/ UPI/ net banking etc to pay the CA Foundation application fees. Applicants are recommended to take a printout of the application fee receipt for future references. The CA Foundation application form fee detail is explained in the table given below.

Validity of CA Foundation Application Form

The CA Foundation application form is valid for three years. Even if a candidate is unable to qualify a certain attempt, their registration will not expire. 

A candidate can appear for the CA Foundation exam six times using the CA Foundation application form filled out once. However, for further returns, they will need to apply again and pay an application fee.
