HP SET 2026 Notification was released by the Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) on January 3, 2026. The online HP SET 2026 application process commenced on January 3, 2026. The last date to submit HP SET applications is January 30, 2026 till 11:59 PM. The exam will be conducted in 22 subjects at various centers including Shimla, Solan, Mandi, Kangra (Dharamshala), Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Nahan, Una, Kullu, and Chamba. This is an entry-level state exam to recruit Assistant Professors in universities and colleges of Himachal Pradesh state. Every year, HPPSC administers the HP SET exam in offline mode. Only eligible candidates can apply online to appear in this exam. However, the candidates need to go through the recruitment process of universities or colleges for the post of Assistant professor.
It is expected that the HP SET Exam will be administered in August 2026. Candidates can review crucial details like the application date, syllabus, exam pattern, and important dates to keep in mind for them, including the HP SET exam date, once the HPPSC releases the notification for HP SET 2026. Earlier, in July 2019, the HPSET exam format changed. Now, no marks will be deducted if any question is answered incorrectly, as no negative marking scheme here.
