ICAR AIEEA Normalisation Process

The ICAR AIEEA 2022 examination will be conducted across multiple dates and shifts and as a reason, the difficulty level of the question papers may vary. In such a scenario, certain candidates will be attempting the tougher set of questions while the others will get a relatively easier set which will lead to a disparity in the marks secured by the candidates in the exam. In order to ensure that the candidates are neither disadvantaged nor benefitted from the difficulty level of the question sets, the raw marks of the candidates are put through a normalisation process to identify the true merit of the candidates.

Along with the raw marks obtained by the candidates in the exam, the ICAR AIEEA 2022 result card will also display the percentile score of the candidates which will be the normalised score.

Here is the formula through which the candidates’ percentile score will be calculated:

(No. of Candidates appeared in the “Session” with Raw Score less than or equal to than the Candidate / Total Number of candidates appeared in the “Session”) x 100

Note:The Percentile Score has nothing to do with the percentile average of the individual subject, aggregate or percentage of obtained marks

  • The percentage in Overall Grade Point Average (OGPA) will be compared – In case of a tie, the merit is determined basis OGPA/percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying Bachelor’s degree examination.

  • The Age of the candidate will be compared– In case of tie still persists even after the above point then the candidate who is older would be ranked higher.

Dear Student,

Yes, you can apply for the ICAR entrance examination. But, the reason for the drop may be asked later by the university. However, the university management must consider the admission if the reason for the drop is genuine.
