Your Ultimate Exam Preparation Guide Awaits!
The ICAR counselling cycle 2024 wrapped up successfully, and the cutoffs are now available for students to check. Checking previous year cutoffs can help candidates follow the cutoff rank trends and check what the opening and closing ranks were in the past years, and what to expect in the upcoming session. This guide will help you understand the scores you need to get into your dream university to study agriculture.
Gaining admission to an institution associated with ICAR is an excellent achievement. The cutoff for ICAR AIEEA 2024 may seem unrealistically high; however, it is important for candidates to realise that there will be additional opportunities in the mop-up round for people who qualify for admission and who do not meet the qualifying cutoffs.
Just because you get the qualifying marks, it does not mean you will get a seat. It just means you will be on the list of people who might get in. The admission cutoff and the qualifying marks are two different things. The qualifying marks are important. They are not the same, as the admission cutoff. The Indian Council of Agricultural Research All India Entrance Examination for Admission 2024 qualifying criteria, which is now based on the Central Universities Entrance Test percentile, for undergraduate programs, are as follows:
Category | Qualifying Percentile/Percentage |
|---|---|
General / OBC / UPS / EWS | 50% (50th Percentile) |
SC / ST / PwD | 40% (40th Percentile) |
In 2024, the results of Round 1 showed that General category students needed a score above 450 out of 600 to feel safe about getting into government colleges. The Round 1 results made it clear that a score of 450 or more was very important for category students who wanted to get into the best government colleges. The General category students had to score to feel safe, about their chances of getting into these top government colleges.
Course | General | OBC | SC | ST |
|---|---|---|---|---|
B.Sc. Agriculture | 350+ | 340+ | 275+ | 245+ |
B.Tech Biotechnology | 320+ | 320+ | 290+ | 280+ |
B.Sc. Horticulture | 310+ | 290+ | 260+ | 200+ |
B.Tech Agri. Engg. | 280+ | 275+ | 200+ | 180+ |
The closing rank is the rank of the student who gets into a specific college. When we talk about good colleges, the competition is very tough. For these premier institutes, the seats for students who are in the General category usually get filled up by students who have ranks that are really low, like within the first few hundred closing ranks of these premier institutes.
Institute | Closing Rank |
|---|---|
BHU Varanasi | 140 – 150 |
IARI New Delhi (UG) | Top 100 – 110 |
GBPUAT Pantnagar | 360 – 370 |
PAU Ludhiana | 370 – 390 |
UAS Bangalore | 670 – 690 |
