According to the IIITH UGEE 2026 Marking Scheme, both sections hold different marking schemes. Section 1, SUPR (Subject Proficiency Test) contains a negative marking scheme of 0.25 where for each correct answer candidates are awarded 1 mark. As for section 2, REAP (Research Aptitude Test), candidates will get two marks for each correct answer. However, the UGEE REAP section has a negative marking of 0.5 marks. This means, that if candidates choose the wrong answer, they will lose 0.5 marks from the total marks allotted to that question.
2 marks per correct answer will be awarded in the Research Aptitude Test. 0.5 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. If you skip any question, there will be no penalty for that.
In the Subject Proficiency Test, 1 mark will be awarded for each correct answer and 0.25 mark will be deducted for every incorrect response. No marks will be deducted for unattempted questions.
