The JET 2026 counselling process is intended to be transparent and systematic so you have an equal opportunity to secure your admission if you are eligible. The complete counselling process is explained in the step-by-step:
The first step in the JET counselling process requires you to fill out an online application form to register. This registration process includes filling in your personal details, JET score and preferred courses/colleges.
After the registration process is completed, you must upload the required documents, which I explained earlier. The university then verifies your uploaded documents and information. Verification ensures that you meet all eligibility criteria.
After the university verifies your documents, it will create a rank list on its official website. The list of candidates will be based on the scores of their exams. The university authority considers your preferences that you submitted at the time of registration.
After publishing the rank list, the official university website will allocate seats according to the rank list and your chosen program. So, you need to check your allotted seat from your profile. The site also gives information on the allotted college and the course you were allocated.
You will have to accept your allotted seat after the seat is allotted. The confirmation period is vital, so you may lose your seat if you fail to confirm within the prescribed time.
After the seat is allocated, you must pay a fee to accept the seat. The fee confirms the allocation of seats. The university sets the fee structure in an official notification. You can even use the payment system online to pay the amount. You can even track the payment and seat lock from the official site.
After confirming the seat, you must report to the designated centre. In the centre, you must submit your original documents to be verified physically. Then you pay the remaining fees as required by the university. The admission process is completed after the university confirms all the details and processes the payment of fees.
During the JET 2026 counselling process, you must submit the required original documents for verification purposes. Below we have listed the important documents that you need to carry during the counselling rounds.
