Factors Determining KSET 2025 Cutoff

The cutoff for KSET 2025 will be based on a number of key factors. Here's what affects it:

  • First, the number of test-takers matters. The more people who sit for the exam, the greater the competition, which can affect the cutoff.
  • Second, the difficulty of the question paper counts. A harder exam tends to result in a lower cutoff, while an easier one can push it up.
  • Another important aspect is the last year's cutoff marks. Authorities of the exam usually study past trends to create expectations for this year.
  • The number of seats available also impacts the cutoff. If there are fewer vacancies, competition increases, raising the minimum marks required.
  • Finally, the highest mark secured in KSET 2025 will also be taken into consideration. If the candidate secures very high marks, it may impact the overall cutoff.
  • The overall performance of the candidates is also an important factor. If the average score obtained by the test-takers is high, the cutoff will go higher. But if the average score is low, the cutoff will tend to go lower.
  • To ensure fair representation on the basis of reservation policies, different categories (General, OBC, SC, ST, PwD) will have different qualifying marks and cut-off ranges.
  • KSET cutoffs can also be different for different subjects opted for by the candidates.

All of these conditions collectively decide the minimum marks you should score.

KSET 2025 Cutoff Declaration Criteria

The KSET 2025 cutoff will be declared based on the following criteria:

  • To be eligible for an Assistant Professor position, you must adhere to UGC guidelines. You need to score a minimum of 40% (General category) and 35% (Reserved category) in both papers of the KSET exam to demonstrate your foundational subject knowledge.
  • Only 6% of the total number of participants who took both KSET papers will be deemed eligible for Assistant Professor roles. This selection process aims to create a competitive environment to prioritize the most capable you.
  • A merit list will be prepared based on the cumulative marks obtained in both KSET papers. The list will be organized by subject and category and will play a crucial role in determining candidate ranking and slot allocation.
  • To compete for an Assistant Professor position, you must have completed both KSET papers and met the specified aggregate marks for your respective categories. Eligibility results will consider the state’s reservation policy and align with KSET norms.
  • Slot distribution across various subjects and categories will be calculated using a predetermined formula to ensure fair representation based on the number of qualifying you in each category. You must accurately declare your category on the application, as revisions are not allowed after submission.
