KSET 2026 Selection Process

The KSET 2026 selection process begins with the official notification released by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) on its official website-  cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea/. The KSET 2026 provisional answer key is expected to be released shortly after the exam, tentatively in November 2026, and the KSET results 2026 will be declared on the official KEA portal after the objection window closes. The selection process for KSET 2026 exam follows a structured merit-based system designed for determining eligibility for the post of Assistant Professor in universities and colleges across Karnataka.
The selection procedure is followed as per the rules specified by the Government of Karnataka and the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA). The qualifying marks for KSET are specified by KEA, and candidates who clear the KSET qualifying marks 2026 and fall within the top 6% of appeared candidates, subject-wise and category-wise, shall be considered provisionally qualified. The candidates must note that no central counselling is conducted for the KSET selection; instead, the issuance of the KSET Eligibility Certificate serves as the mandatory qualification for Assistant Professor appointments in universities and colleges in Karnataka. KSET 2026 Qualifying Marks

The candidates must note that the cutoff of KSET changes every year, and there is a different cutoff for each subject and category. The cutoff is determined by the number of candidates clearing the exam and slots available for the award of KSET certificate. The minimum cutoff that is required to be declared ‘Pass’ in KSET is as follows -

Method of Selection for KSET 2026

Even though the candidates attained the required cutoff in KSET, he/ she shall be awarded KSET certificate only on the basis of the selection procedure mentioned below.

  • From each subject only 6% top candidates clearing KSET shall be declared ‘Pass’ in the examination.
  • The candidates will have to be among the top 6% qualifiers in each subject so that he/ she shall be considered for the award of KSET certificate.
  • The selection of candidates for the 6% slot shall be based on the reservation rules and policies.

Documents Required to Obtain KSET 2026 Certificate

The candidates who clear KSET as per the method of selection specified must submit the following documents to The Co-ordinator, Kset Center, University Of Mysore, Moulya Bhavan, Manasagangothri, Mysuru – 570 006 on or before the specified date.

  • KSET Result Sheet
  • Class 10th Mark Sheet
  • Graduation Mark Sheet or Certificate
  • Category Certificate
  • Correct Postal Address with PIN Code and Mobile Number

After verifying the documents, the exam authority shall send the KSET qualifying certificate by post. Therefore, candidates are advised to provide the exact postal address while submitting the documents.
