The provisional allotment list is prepared through a centralized selection process. It takes into account subject-wise and state-wide provisional ranks, the student's preferences, reservation policies, and any weightage details mentioned in the CAF (Common Application Form). Subject-Wise State-Wide Provisional Rank

In the academic session 2026-26, career marks from Matriculation, Intermediate (+2), and Undergraduate (+3) levels, including Distinction and Honors, will not carry any weightage.

The subject-wise state provisional merit rank for Odisha CPET 2026 will be based on a combination of career marks (out of 20) and entrance marks (out of 80).

Students who scored 60% or a CGPA of 6.5 or above are classified as first division, while those scoring between 45% and 59.9% or a CGPA between 5.0 and 6.4 are classified as second division. Their career marks for Odisha CPET selection process will be calculated as follows:

• For Marks-Based Calculation:
  • First Division Honors: CPET score + (10 + (Secured % / 10))
  • Second Division Honors: CPET score + (5 + (Secured % / 10))
• For CGPA-Based Calculation:
  • First Division Honors: CPET score + (10 + Secured CGPA)
  • Second Division Honors: CPET score + (5 + Secured CGPA)

Students who secure less than 50% in their degree or equivalent examination will not be eligible for any career mark or weightage benefits.

Provisional Allotment List

Odisha CPET 2026 seat allotment is based on the students choice of preferences rather than strictly subject-wise provisional ranks. If two or more candidates have the same combined score (entrance + career), the entrance marks will be used to determine the rank. If the entrance marks are also identical, the candidate's career marks in their graduation exam will be considered. In case all these factors are the same, the older candidate (by date of birth) will be given a higher rank.

The reservation policy of the Government of Odisha will be followed strictly when preparing the provisional seat allotment list for Odisha CPET 2026. PwD students who qualify based on general merit (without any relaxed standards) will not be counted towards the reserved quota. Odisha CPET Selection Process 2026

For the academic session 2026-27, the selection process for Odisha CPET will follow an online, counselling-based system.

• Applicants can submit their preferences once in each phase, which will have a maximum of four rounds of admissions.
• If a student is admitted to their top choice in Phase-I or accepts admission in any subject during Phase-I, they won’t be eligible to participate in Phase-II or Phase-III.
• After being allotted a seat in a round, students can choose from the following options:
  • Float: If you accept the allotted seat but wish to be considered for a higher preference at the same institution, you can select this option. You’ll need to pay the admission fee online and wait for subsequent rounds. No need to visit the institution until the final seat is confirmed.
  • Slide: This option allows you to accept the seat but continue seeking admission to a better subject or a different institution. The fee payment is required online, but no need to report to the institution immediately.
  • Freeze: If you are satisfied with both the course and institution, choose this option. You must pay the admission fee online and visit the institution to complete the admission process.
• Once an option is selected (Float, Slide, or Freeze), candidates must pay the admission fee shown on the screen. If they’ve chosen the "Slide" option, only the fee difference will be charged in future rounds if applicable.
• In each round, candidates must select one of the options. If they don’t choose an option, the previous choice will remain valid until the final round or until they get their top preference.
• Once the "Freeze" option is selected, candidates need to pay the required fees and report to the institution to complete the admission formalities. If the admission formalities are not completed on time, the seat will be forfeited and offered to another student.

CAF Fees and Admission Fees

Applicants are required to pay both their CAF Fees and Admission Fees online, using the specified payment gateways, for completing the Odisha CPET selection process 2026. After a successful transaction, those who are selected for their 1st Option or have chosen the “Freeze” option in any round (except the final round) will receive an intimation letter.
