The Manonmaniam Sundaranar University is expected to release the TNSET 2026 notification soon on its official website. The Tamil Nadu State Eligibility Test (TNSET) is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for the post of Assistant Professor in universities and colleges across Tamil Nadu. Candidates who qualify for the exam become eligible for recruitment in higher education institutions within the state. The TNSET 2026 examination will be conducted in two papers. Paper I is common for all candidates and is designed to test general awareness, teaching and research aptitude, reasoning ability, comprehension, and communication skills. Paper II is subject-specific and aims to assess the candidate’s in-depth knowledge and understanding of the subject they have opted for. Both papers are usually conducted in a single session without any break. The TNSET is conducted to determine eligibility for Assistant Professor posts in Tamil Nadu colleges and universities.
