UGC NET Admit Card 2022

UGC NET admit card 2022 will be released by the NTA soon for the December 2021 & June 2022 merged cycles. UGC NET 2022 exam is to be held on July 9, 11 and 12, 2022 and on August 12, 13 and 14, 2022. Registered candidates can download the UGC NET admit card by visiting the official website or through the direct link available on this page. UGC NET admit card is issued to only those who successfully registered for the exam by providing complete information in the application form of UGC NET and have paid the application fee within the stipulated time. 

To download the UGC NET 2022 admit card or hall ticket, candidates need to use their application number and date of birth on the link activated by the NTA. Candidates need to carry the admit card to the exam centre on the day of the examination. Those who forget to carry the UGC NET 2022 admit card to the exam centre are not allowed to appear for the exam.

In order to download the NTA UGC NET admit card, you can follow the simple steps mentioned below -

  • Click on the direct link mentioned above to download the UGC NET 2022 admit card or visit the official website ugcnet.nta.nic.in
  • A new page will open where you will be required to fill important fields denoting Application Number, Captcha code and Password.
  • Once you enter all the credentials correctly then click on the tab that says 'Submit'.

It is essential for all the candidates to download the admit card as no entry will be allowed in the examination hall without the admit card.

Points to Remember with Regard to UGC NET Admit Card 2022

Candidates appearing for the UGC NET exam can make a note of the following important points -

  • Primarily, it is important to verify all details printed on the NTA UGC NET admit card such personal details such as name, date of birth etc
  • The admit card will not be available offline. No other means of acquiring the Admit Card will be available. 
  • It is mandatory for you to carry the admit card to the examination venue, as no candidates will be allowed without the NTA UGC NET Admit Card.
  • You must carry the Admit Card as a hard copy, printed on an A4 sheet to the examination center. Colour printout is most preferable 
  • It is important to preserve the admit card till the announcement of results and receiving E-Eligibility Certificate
  • It is also mandatory for you to produce an Identity Proof along with your admit card to the exam venue. You might be restricted from appearing in the examination if you fail to produce your ID Proof.
  • You must preserve the admit card post examination.

List of Documents Required to Carry on UGC NET 2022 Exam Day

One of the most important and vital documents accompanying the admit card of UGC NET is the ID Proof with candidates photograph on it. Candidates must also remember to get a valid proof of identification approved by the Government of India or any Governmental Organisation. Let’s look at the documents that can be considered as valid ID proofs.  

  • Service ID Card

  • Passport

  • Driving License with Photograph

  • Aadhaar Card

  • PAN Card

  • Voter ID Card

  • Government-approved ID Card or certificate with the photograph of the candidate on it.

  • Disability Certificate (if the candidate is differently-abled).

Discrepancy in UGC NET Admit Card 2022- What to do?

Candidates are urged to check all details on their admit card carefully once they have downloaded and printed it. All of the information on the admit card should correspond to the information supplied on the UGC NET application form. The following are details on the admit card that candidates should double-check for errors:

  • Candidate’s name
  • Date of birth
  • Application number
  • Category
  • Test city
  • Subject
  • Photograph & signature

A discrepancy in the Admit Card - What to do?

Report any discrepancies on your UGC NET admit card to the exam conducting authorities using the NTA Helpline numbers 8076535482 and 7703859909. Candidates can phone these lines between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on weekdays.

"In such instances, candidates will present in the examination with the already downloaded Admit Card," according to the official notice. NTA, on the other hand, will take the required steps to amend the record later.

Not Able to Download UGC NET Admit Card? Check Reasons

If the candidate is facing any issue in downloading the NTA UGC NET admit card, then they will have to go through the following points:

  • Unstable Network Connectivity: Candidates will have to ensure that they have a stable internet connection to download the admit card.
  • Incorrect Credentials: The details entered such as ‘Application Number’/ ‘Roll number’, ‘Password’/ ‘Date of Birth’ must be correct. Recheck the details with the printed/soft copy of the filled application form.
  • Server Error: Once the admit card is released, a large number of candidates will try to download the admit card at once which may lead to a server error. In such a case, candidates are advised to remain patient and check in sometime.
  • Non-Fulfilment of Eligibility: The admit card will only be released to candidates who have successfully completed the application process and met all the eligible criteria.
  • Incomplete Registration: If your application form is found to be incomplete or with incorrect details like blurred photograph, etc. then you will not be issued UGC NET 2022 Admit Card. There is no solution in this case. 

UGC NET 2022 Exam Center

UGC NET 2022 exam city intimation slip has been released. Candidates appearing for UGC NET 2022 exam starting from July 8 can check their advance information for allotment of centre city on the official website-- ugcnet.nta.nic.in. National Testing Agency (NTA) has activated City Intimation Link on 04th July 2022 for the candidates who have submitted their applications for UGC NET 2022 Exam.

  • Candidates can check the admit card to find the name of the exam center allotted to them. The admit card will have the complete address of the exam center along with the reporting time and other details.
  • Usually, candidates get their preferred exam centres. However, due to some administrative reasons, some candidates might be allotted different exam centres. Any request for the change of centre will not be entertained at the centre.

UGC NET 2022 Reporting Timings on Exam Day

Candidates appearing for the UGC NET exam must note that the exam is conducted in two shifts, viz., Shift 1 & 2. The reporting time for each shift is as follows -

UGC NET 2022 Exam Day Instructions

Here are the important exam day instructions pertaining to UGC NET 2022 exam -

  • The candidates are advised to reach the exam centre at least 1 hour before the exam to avoid the last-minute rush
  • The entry process at the exam centre shall begin 30 minutes before the exam
  • At the entrance into the exam centre, a security check will be made, and the candidates need to stand with adequate social distancing
  • The candidates need to show the hall ticket and ID proof at the verification desk
  • At the entrance of the exam centre, the room numbers with hall ticket numbers are pasted. The candidates need to check the list and proceed to the exam room as per the number mentioned on the sheet
  • At the entrance of the exam hall, the invigilator shall help candidates in finding the computer system 
  • The candidates need to be placed in front of the computer system and wait for the instructions from invigilators
  • The password to access the exam will be announced sharp 9:00 AM in the morning and 3:00 PM in the afternoon
  • The test will automatically be terminated after the specified duration (12:00 PM/ 6:00 PM)
  • Candidates must note that the answers will be submitted even if the test gets terminated after the duration. Therefore, the candidates need not worry about it
  • In case if you face any server issues, inform the same to the respective invigilator 
  • In case the exam starts late in any of the exam centre, the candidates shall be compensated with the additional time to complete the test

COVID-19 Guidelines to be followed at Exam Center

  • Candidates should maintain social distancing while entering the examination hall.
  • Candidates should wear face mask and must carry their own hand sanitizer bottle.
  • Candidate should not share personal items like mask, gloves, water bottle etc with any other candidate or person inside the examination hall.
  • Spitting is strictly prohibited in and around the examination hall.
  • All candidates must go through a thermal scanning before entering the examination hall.
  • Candidates should wash hands with soap or clear hands with sanitizer before entering the exam hall.

Dear student, it seems that you are mixing up two very different things completely. In order to be eligible to apply for the UPSC civil services examination, you at least need to have a graduation degree from any recognised University. For UGC NET, the minimum qualification required to apply is a postgraduate degree. Thus, only if you have completed your Master’s degree study in History or any related subject, you are eligible to apply for UGC NET with History as your main paper. I have completed my MBA and In my graduation (BA - Major in English). Please suggest, do I need to select the management paper for NET exam or I could have Option to choose another subject as well,Like as History.

You can select any subject of your choice in UGC NET 2020 and there is no such limitation restricting you to choosing subjects related to your academics. However, it is recommended that you choose a subject related to your post-graduation or graduation as it helps a lot in the exam.
