Steps to Apply for UGC NET 2020

Stage 1: Registration
Registration is the basic step for the application process
Basic Details: Candidates will have to enter the guardian’s name and candidate’s name as mentioned in the Secondary Examination Certificate or some equivalent Board or University certificate. Everything in the registration form must be written in Capital letter.
Date of Birth: Feed-in the date of birth as mentioned in the Secondary Examination Certificate.

Stage 2: Fill Online Application Form
OBC and Non-OBC: While filling up the UGC NET 2020 application form, candidates must check the OBC list prescribed by the Central Government. The candidates who are not in the OBC-NCL category must mention as a general category in the application form.
EWS: The Economically Backwardness would be considered if the candidate satisfies the provided by the Ministry of Social justice and Empowerment and also by the guidelines provided by the MHRD Department of Higher Education.
Address: Candidates must provide the full residential address and specifically mention the correct Pincode of the area.
Examination Centre: Candidates have the liability to choose four centres for the examination of NET 2019. By no means, the examination centre chosen by the candidates would be changed by NTA.
Subject Choice: Candidates must choose the subject which is available on the list of NET. Candidates are preferably advised to choose a subject which they already pursued during postgraduate courses.
Stage 3: Uploading Scanned Image
Size of photo: The size of the Photograph must be between 10kb to 200kb
Size of signature: The size of the image should be 4kb to 30 kb. The candidates must use black ink on a white sheet to sign and then scan and resize to the required size.

Candidates will have to log in to the official site of NTA and click on “Apply Online”
Applicants will be asked to download the UGCNET 2020 Information Brochure and also a Replica of the Application form. The candidates must go through the information brochure and find out eligibility criteria for UGC NET and check they satisfy the clauses of eligibility.
There are 4 very simple steps to fill the application form for UGC NET:
Step 1: Fill the registration form and note the system generated application number
Step 2: Upload candidate’s scanned photograph and signature
Step 3: Make an online payment through the gateway for the UGC NET application form
Step 4: Take a print out of the application “Confirmation” page
The final submission of the Online Application Form will remain incomplete if step 2 and step 3 are not followed through. Such application form stands cancelled and the candidature of the candidate remains cancelled.
The candidates will get a one time password and application number through SMS.
At least 4 print out of the application must be taken for all future references.
Documents Required for UGC NET Application Process
Before filling up the UGC NET 2020 application form, the candidates must know which documents or information must be kept ready:
University or Board certificate for the name of the candidate, mother’s name, father’s name and date of birth of the candidate.
Contact details of the candidate such as the Mobile Number and Email ID.
Adhaar card
Scanned Images in JPEG format.
Qualifying Degree certificate or latest semester mark sheet
Ration Card, Passport and other government documents
Mailing address as well as a permanent address with pin code.

Persons with Disability will have to show the medical certificate
Code of the subject at postgraduate level

Payment of the Examination Fee:
After filling all the details correctly and successfully for UGC NET, the candidates have to select the option of payment for examination.
The payment will be done through SBI_MOPS (Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking/ E-Challan of SBI).
Candidates must have excellent internet connection while filling the UGC NET application form and making the payment, as any server issue can result in failure of the UGC NET application process.
