Candidates who will appear for the AP EDCET 2026 must be Indian nationals and meet the local/ non-local status criteria in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Students must keep in mind that they have studied BA/B.Sc/B.Com/BBA/BCA in their Bachelor’s degree or have a Post Graduate degree with a minimum of 50% marks for General category students and 40% for SC/ST students.
The students who want to pass the entrance test must score at least 37 (25%) out of a possible 100 marks (except SC/ST students). There will not be any minimum qualifying marks in place for the ranking of applicants who are from SC or ST groups. In the area of Physical Sciences and Mathematics Methodologies, there won't be any minimum qualifying grades for women as well.
AP EdCET 2026 will have multiple-choice questions (MCQs) i.e. for each question there will be 4 choices, and candidates are required to select the correct one as per their understanding. The exam will consist of 3 parts, Part A, Part B and Part C. Students can choose their preferred subject for Part C.
The AP EDCET exam used to be conducted offline (pen and paper-based) mode. But, AP EDCET 2026 will be conducted in online mode. The application mode of the exam was also conducted in online mode. It is a state-level entrance examination conducted every year by Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati.
