CUSAT CAT 2018 Counselling Process

The CUSAT CAT 2018 Counselling Process for B.Tech and various other courses has already begun. On this page, candidates can get information on CUSAT CAT 2018 counselling schedule, counselling procedure, seat allotment, admission criteria, etc.

The counselling process begins once the CUSAT CAT results are announced. Only those who meet the cut-off become eligible to attend the counselling process of CUSAT CAT 2018. The counselling process is conducted online and it is organised for candidates based on the ranks secured by them in the entrance exam.

The process of counselling begins with registration, and it is followed by option entry, seat allotment, reporting to allotted college and document verification. No candidate will be allowed to participate in the counselling process without doing registration for the same. Candidates will not be sent any individual call letter or communication related to the counselling process.

The centralised counselling for B.Tech / B. Tech (Lateral Entry)/ Integrated MSc. will be conducted as per the following schedule prescribed by the Cochin University of Science & Technology, Kerala.

Detailed CUSAT CAT Counselling Process 2018

The CUSAT CAT 2018 counselling process involves the following steps:

Registration & Option Entry:

  • It is mandatory for qualified candidates to register themselves in order to participate in the counselling of CUSAT CAT 2018, Candidates can register using the username and password sent on their email IDs.
  • Once registered, the next step for candidates is to fill the choice of colleges and courses in order of their preference. At the time of choice filling, candidates should try and provide the maximum number of options.
  • It must be noted that no changes can be done once the options are locked and submitted.
  • In cases where candidates are not able to submit the form before the due date, the selected options will be automatically confirmed by the admission authorities.

Seat Allotment:

  • Once the choice filling process is over, the next important step for candidates is to take the printout of allotted seat.
  • The seat allotment is done based on candidates' ranks, filled preferences and the number of seats available in particular courses.
  • Also, candidates are allotted seats when the process of document verification is done and the counselling fee is paid.
  • If seats still remain vacant after the subsequent rounds of counselling, a spot round of counselling will be conducted separately by the University.
  • Before reporting at the allotted college, candidates must download the counselling call letter and carry the same along with other necessary documents.

Reporting to allotted college:

  • Candidates must report at the counselling venue as per the specified date and time for the purpose of document verification. 
  • Once the process of document verification is done, the next step for candidates is to pay the admission fee in order to confirm their seats.
  • It is a must for candidates to confirm their seats by paying the fee as per the schedule.
  • Those who fail to show up for the counselling process as per the scheule, will not be considered for further counselling rounds.

Document Required for CUSAT CAT Counselling 2018

  • CUSAT CAT 2018 Admit Card
  • Migration Certificate (for students from outside Kerala state)
  • S.S.L.C/10th Mark list & pass certificate (CBSE, ICSE etc.)
  • Plus 2 Mark lists / and pass certificate (CBSE, ICSE etc.)
  • Proof of payment of fees
  • Certificate to prove Keralite Status, for State Merit Seats
  • Transfer Certificate/Conduct Certificate from the Institution last attended (in English version)
  • Four passport size Photographs of the candidate
  • Community and Non-Creamy Layer certificate in the case of ‘SEBC’ candidates.
  • Community certificate issued by the Tahsildar in the case of Kerala Scheduled Caste (KSC)/ Kerala Scheduled Tribe (KST)candidates.
  • Valid Physically Handicapped certificate issued by the District Medical Board of the State to which the candidate belongs to (for candidates seeking admission under physically challenged (PHC) category.
