CUSAT CAT 2019 paper analysis will help candidates who have appeared for the exam in getting an idea of the difficulty level of the exam. Candidates who aspire to get into various courses at Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) next year should also go through the paper analysis of CUSAT CAT 2019 as this will help them anticipate the difficulty level of next year’s CUSAT CAT question paper.
CUSAT CAT 2019 is an entrance examination conducted by Cochin University of Science and Technology. Through this exam, candidates get admission in various undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered by the institutes affiliated to the University. This year, the exam took place at 94 centres including three centres in UAE.
CUSAT CAT was conducted on 6th and 7th April 2019. Of 24,190 applicants who applied for B.Tech courses in CUSAT, about 21,412 students took the exam for B.Tech admissions. The exam was conducted in online mode and due to some technical glitches associated with two of the exam centres, the exam had to be cancelled, because of which, 810 B.Tech aspirants could not sit in the exam. The revised dates for the cancelled tests have not been announced yet.
The CUSAT CAT 2019 analysis for admission to CUSAT’s B.Tech courses is now available on CollegeDekho. The exams were conducted at all the district headquarters of Kerala. About 35,702 candidates applied for the exam this year.
CUSAT CAT 2019 exam for B.Tech courses consisted of three sections. The exam comprised 250 multiple choice questions. All the questions were divided into three sections. The exam needed to be completed in 180 minutes. For every correct answer, candidates will be awarded 3 marks and for every wrong answer, one mark will be deducted form candidates’ total score. To know about the difficulty level of every section of the exam and to analyse the paper, candidates are suggested to go through the following information.
This section of the exam comprised of 125 questions.
Each question was an objective type.
The total weightage of this section was 375.
For every correct answer, candidates will get +3 marks and for every wrong answer, candidates will get -1 mark.
This section of the exam was easy and candidates could finish all the questions from this section in time.
Ideally, candidates had to complete this section of the examination in 90 minutes giving 0.72 minutes to each question.
This section of the exam contained 75 questions.
The questions had multiple choices for answers.
The maximum marks that could be obtained by a candidate from this section are 225.
For every incorrect answer, candidates will lose 1 mark and for every correct answer, candidates will be awarded 3 marks.
Like the Mathematics section, this section of the exam was also easier as compared to last year’s paper and candidates were able to finish all the questions in time.
With an average rate of solving one question in 0.72 minutes, candidates had 54 minutes to complete this section of the examination.
This section of CUSAT CAT 2019 exam for B.Tech Courses contained 50 questions.
All the questions were objective type.
The maximum marks for this section were 150.
Three marks will be awarded for every correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted from the total for every incorrect answer.
According to the candidates who appeared in the exam, this section of the exam was comparatively tough. Few questions from this section were difficult.
Candidates got 36 minutes to finish the whole section giving 0.72 minutes for each question.
