CUSAT CAT is an entrance examination conducted by Cochin University of Science and Technology. Through this exam, candidates get admission in various undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered by the institutes affiliated to the University.
CUSAT CAT 2024 exam for B.Tech courses consisted of three sections. The exam comprised 250 multiple choice questions. All the questions were divided into three sections. The exam needed to be completed in 180 minutes. For every correct answer, candidates will be awarded 3 marks and for every wrong answer, one mark will be deducted form candidates’ total score. The total weightage of this section was 375.

This section of the exam was easy and candidates could finish all the questions from this section in time.
Ideally, candidates had to complete this section of the examination in 90 minutes giving 0.72 minutes to each question.
This section of the exam contained 75 questions.
The questions had multiple choices for answers.
The maximum marks that could be obtained by a candidate from this section are 225.
For every incorrect answer, candidates will lose 1 mark and for every correct answer, candidates will be awarded 3 marks.
Like the Mathematics section, this section of the exam was also easier as compared to last year’s paper and candidates were able to finish all the questions in time.
With an average rate of solving one question in 0.72 minutes, candidates had 54 minutes to complete this section of the examination.
This section of CUSAT CAT 2024 exam for B.Tech Courses contained 50 questions.
All the questions were objective type.
The maximum marks for this section were 150.
Three marks will be awarded for every correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted from the total for every incorrect answer.
According to the candidates who appeared in the exam, this section of the exam was comparatively tough. Few questions from this section were difficult.
Candidates got 36 minutes to finish the whole section giving 0.72 minutes for each question.

Based on past year statistics of CUSAT CAT aiming for a score in the range of 300 to 310 is advisable to achieve a rank around 1000. This might vary depending on factors like the number of students appearing and the difficulty level of the questions in the current year's exam.
