GPAT Selection Process 2026

The GPAT selection process generally involves multiple stages, starting from the publication of the merit list to the final allotment of seats through centralized or institute-level counselling. First, candidates are shortlisted based on their GPAT score and rank, followed by the release of a merit list. Qualified students then participate in counselling sessions conducted by AICTE-approved universities, state authorities, or individual institutions. During counselling, candidates are required to register, fill their choices of colleges and courses, and attend document verification. The seat allocation is done on the basis of GPAT rank, availability of seats, reservation policy, and candidate preferences.

GPAT 2026 Registrations

Candidates interested in taking the GPAT exam must register themselves in the online mode at the official website of NBEMS. The registration process is expected to begin in March 2026. Upon successful registration, candidates can proceed to fill out the application form for GPAT 2026. Candidates can check the detailed registration and application process here.

• Click on the link mentioning “Apply for GPAT”.
• Complete the registration process by filling up the necessary details like name, email ID, and mobile number. 
• Upon completing the registration process, candidates have to fill in their personal, academic, and contact information while completing the GPAT 2026 application form.
• Next, candidates have to upload their signatures and photographs in the specified format as mentioned by the authorities.
• Then candidates have to pay the application fee of Rs 2200 for General/EWS/OBC-NCL and Rs 1100 for SC/ST/PwD/Female candidates in the online mode itself.
• After successful payment of the application fee, candidates can submit their application form of GPAT and take a printout of the same for future purposes.

GPAT 2026 Admit Card Download

NBEMS will release the GPAT admit card 2026 on its official website. Only those candidates who have completed the application process and paid the application fee will be issued the admit card of GPAT 2026. Candidates will be able to download the GPAT 2026 admit card by logging in using their credentials, like application ID, date of birth, and password. The hall ticket will consist of important details like the name of the candidate, roll number, application number, name of candidate’s father, exam venue address, exam date and time, and important instructions for the exam. Candidates must download and take a coloured printout of the admit card and carry the same along with a valid ID proof on the day of the exam. 

GPAT 2026 Exam Date & Instructions

The GPAT 2026 exam is expected to be conducted by the NBEMS in June 2026. The exam will be conducted for a total time duration of 3 hours and consist of 125 MCQ-based questions. The total marks for the GPAT 2026 exam is 500. As per the marking scheme of the exam, candidates will be awarded 4 marks for each correct answer, and there will be a deduction of 1 mark for every incorrect response. 

GPAT 2026 Answer Key Challenge

NBEMS will release the answer key of GPAT 2026 in June 2026. The authorities will first release the provisional GPAT 2026 answer key, which can be challenged by the students. Upon scrutiny of the objections raised against the provisional answer key by the candidates, the authorities will finally release the final answer key of GPAT 2026. Candidates can verify the answers marked in the exam with the final answer key and calculate their tentative score for the exam.

GPAT 2026 Results

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences will release the GPAT result 2026 in the online mode tentatively in July 2026. To check the result of GPAT 2026, candidates have to login using their credentials, like their application number, date of birth, and password. Candidates have to download the scorecard from the official website and take a printout of the same for future reference. The GPAT scorecard is valid for 3 year and can be used for admission to M. Pharm courses. 

GPAT 2026 Merit List and Cutoffs

Based on the GPAT result 2026, the authorities will prepare the merit list that will rank candidates as per their GPAT score and percentile. The GPAT participating colleges will also release the cutoff for admission based on factors like the total number of applicants, the difficulty level of the exam, and the availability of seats.

GPAT 2026 Counselling and Admissions

The GPAT counselling process will start in August 2026 in the online mode. The counselling process will consist of a series of steps like registration of counselling, choice filling, seat allotment, and reporting at the allotted institute. Candidates who successfully complete the GPAT exam and procured the GPAT Exam Qualification Marks will be eligible for the counselling process of GPAT. During the counselling process, candidates have to fill in their choices of the college and course during the choice filling process. The authorities will release the seat allotment result as per the preference marked by the candidates. The documents required for the GPAT counselling process are class 10 and 12 marksheets and passing certificates, scorecard of GPAT, graduation certificates, migration certificates, etc.
