The GPAT selection process generally involves multiple stages, starting from the publication of the merit list to the final allotment of seats through centralized or institute-level counselling. First, candidates are shortlisted based on their GPAT score and rank, followed by the release of a merit list. Qualified students then participate in counselling sessions conducted by AICTE-approved universities, state authorities, or individual institutions. During counselling, candidates are required to register, fill their choices of colleges and courses, and attend document verification. The seat allocation is done on the basis of GPAT rank, availability of seats, reservation policy, and candidate preferences.
Candidates interested in taking the GPAT exam must register themselves in the online mode at the official website of NBEMS. The registration process is expected to begin in March 2026. NBEMS will release the GPAT admit card 2026 on its official website. Only those candidates who have completed the application process and paid the application fee will be issued the admit card of GPAT 2026. Candidates will be able to download the GPAT 2026 admit card by logging in using their credentials, like application ID, date of birth, and password. The hall ticket will consist of important details like the name of the candidate, roll number, application number, name of candidate’s father, exam venue address, exam date and time, and important instructions for the exam. Candidates must download and take a coloured printout of the admit card and carry the same along with a valid ID proof on the day of the exam.
The GPAT 2026 exam is expected to be conducted by the NBEMS in June 2026. The exam will be conducted for a total time duration of 3 hours and consist of 125 MCQ-based questions. The total marks for the GPAT 2026 exam is 500. As per the marking scheme of the exam, candidates will be awarded 4 marks for each correct answer, and there will be a deduction of 1 mark for every incorrect response.
NBEMS will release the answer key of GPAT 2026 in June 2026. The authorities will first release the provisional GPAT 2026 answer key, which can be challenged by the students. Upon scrutiny of the objections raised against the provisional answer key by the candidates, the authorities will finally release the final answer key of GPAT 2026.
