IIMC Entrance Exam Analysis 2023

IIMC entrance exam analysis 2023 will be available after the conclusion of the exam. It is a national-level exam conducted by NTA for admission in Postgraduate Diploma courses in Journalism (Hindi/English/Odia/ Urdu/ Marathi/ Malayalam), Radio and TV Journalism, and Advertising and Public Relations in any of the preferred IIMCs across the country.

IIMC Entrance Exam Analysis 2022

The CUET (PG) exam for PG Diploma Courses at IIMC was held on September 4, 2022. The IIMCA 2022 entrance examination for Odia, Marathi, Malayalam, and Urdu Journalism courses. This year, the examination was conducted on the behalf of NTA (National Testing Agency).

Candidates who appeared in the IIMC entrance exam 2022 for Odia, Marathi, Malayalam, and Urdu Journalism courses witnessed a lot of changes in the types of questions and topics asked. Some found the difficulty level to be moderate, whereas some were highly disappointed to see more than 60% of questions from Politics.

  • Many students found the questions asked in the question paper to be disappointing. 

  • More than 60% of the questions were said to be from Polity and History.

  • Due to the difficulty level of the question paper, many exam takers took to social media demanding a retake. 

  • Unlike previous years, questions related to Literature, Film, Advertisement, and Public Relations carried even less than 5% of the total weightage.

  • Students said that it was a "Drastic change from IIMC standards". Some even said that the question paper's standard was of a UPSC recruitment exam.

IIMC Entrance Exam 2019 Paper Analysis - English/Hindi Journalism

According to one of the students, the IIMC entrance exam 2019 question paper was easy, and there was no difficulty in answering the questions. The questions asked in the current affairs section of the exam were based on the latest happenings. On the other hand, the grammar part of the IIMC entrance exam 2019 was not only easy but also interesting. 

Another student expressed that the IIMC entrance exam question paper 2019 was moderately difficult. The difficulty level of the section-wise multiple-choice questions was average. On the other hand, some of the questions in the entrance exam were comprehensive.

IIMC Entrance Exam 2019 Paper Analysis - Radio & TV Journalism

Despite some positive feedback on the IIMC entrance exam 2019, some students termed the questions in the exams as confusing. Compared to the previous year, the question paper of the IIM entrance exam 2019 was difficult. Many questions in the entrance exam seemed puzzling and tricky. Fill in the blanks section turned out to be the most confusing for students.

IIMC Entrance Exam Analysis 2018

IIMC Entrance Exam 2018 for Odia/Urdu/Marathi/Malayalam Journalism was successfully conducted on 26th May 2018, whereas the exam for Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism (Hindi/English), Radio & TV journalism and Advertising and Public Relations took place on 27th May 2018. 

The papers for all the three courses were found fairly easy by candidates, although, they found changes in the pattern of the exam for Print as well as Radio & TV Journalism courses. Given below is a paper-wise analysis of IIMC Entrance Exam 2018.

IIMC Entrance Exam Analysis 2018 for Journalism (Hindi/English)

IIMC Entrance Exam 2018 for admission to PGDJ in English/Hindi had a different pattern than previous years’ patterns. Candidates were asked 5 questions, out of which, two questions were objective and three were subjective. The question paper was of 85 marks in total and the time duration to solve it was 120 minutes. There was no negative marking in the paper.

IIMC Entrance Exam Analysis 2018 for Radio & TV Journalism

Similar to Journalism (Hindi/English) Paper, the paper of Radio and TV Journalism was also easy. Candidates saw changes in this paper’s pattern as well. Out of five questions given in the paper, candidates had to attend only four in 120 minutes. All the questions in the paper were subjective. The paper carried a weightage of 75 marks. The weightage of each question was not mentioned and the test aimed at assessing candidates’ communication skills, awareness of certain issues and analytical bent of mind.

IIMC Entrance Exam Analysis 2018 for Advertising & PR: Paper Analysis

Just like the other two papers, this paper was also easy. The pattern of this paper was similar to the pattern of last years. The paper contained 5 questions that had to be completed in 120 minutes. The total weightage of the paper was 75 marks. There was no negative marking in the exam. All the questions were subjective.
