Method of Selection for Kerala SET 2026

The selection of students for Kerala SET 2026 will be done on the basis of the marks obtained in the entrance exam. Based on the score obtained by the applicant, the applicant will be shortlisted.

Written Examination

  • The exam was successfully conducted on February 22, 2026.

  • It consisted of two papers:

    • Paper I: General Knowledge & Teaching Aptitude (common for all candidates).

    • Paper II: Subject-specific paper (offered in 31 subjects based on the candidate’s post-graduation).

  • The Provisional Answer Key was released on February 23, 2026, for candidate review.

Result Declaration

  • The result is expected to be released in late March or early April 2026.

  • To be shortlisted, candidates must meet the following aggregate and paper-wise minimums:

    • General: 40% in each paper with a 48% aggregate.

    • OBC (NCL): 35% in each paper with a 45% aggregate.

    • SC/ST/PH: 35% in each paper with a 40% aggregate.

Document Verification

  • Qualified candidates must present original educational certificates (PG/B.Ed), ID proof, and valid category certificates.

  • OBC (NCL) candidates must ensure their Non-Creamy Layer certificates were obtained between 30/10/2024 and 13/12/2025.

  • The process verifies that all educational and reservation eligibility conditions are met.

Issuance of Eligibility Certificate

  • After successful verification, candidates are awarded the Kerala SET Eligibility Certificate.

  • This certificate has lifetime validity and is mandatory for appointment as a Higher Secondary School Teacher (HSST) or Non-Vocational Teacher in VHSE.

How to Obtain Kerala SET 2026 Qualifying Certificate

The applicants will have to send the qualifying certificates within one year from the date of the SET 2026 result declaration. In case of failing to do so, the applicant will have to submit a late fee of INR 500/- for the next year and INR 250/- for the subsequent years. After the verification of documents submitted by the applicant, the qualifying certificate signed by the Director of General Education will be issued to the qualified students.

In case of losing the original qualifying document issued, the applicant can also apply for a duplicate certificate by sending an application to the Director, the LBS Centre for Science and Technology. The following documents are required while applying for a duplicate qualifying certificate:

  • A demand draft of INR 1000/- issued in favor of the Director, LBS Centre for Science and Technology, payable at Thiruvananthapuram from any Nationalised Bank.

  • An Affidavit worth INR 100/- stamp paper duly attested by a Notary Public/First Class Judicial Magistrate to effect that the original document of the students has been lost along with other relevant documents.

Documents Required to Obtain Kerala SET 2026 Certificate

Qualifying students will have to send all the documents to the Director, LBS Centre, Nandavanam, Thiruvananthapuram for the verification process. The documents which are required by the students to submit for obtaining Kerala SET 2026 certificate are:

  • Hard Copy of the application form for SET 2026 downloaded from the official LBS website.

  • Recognition Certificate from any of Kerala’s Universities, if applicable.

  • Equivalency Certificate from any of Kerala’s universities, if applicable. 

  • A photocopy of the following documents to be attested by the Gazetted Officer: 

    • Provisional/Original certificate and mark sheet for B.Ed. program.

    • Provisional/Original certificate and mark sheet for PG program.

  • Original Caste/Medical certificate (valid as of the date) for students eligible for marks relaxation.
