Kerala SET January 2026

The Government of Kerala, through the Department of General Education, conducts the State Eligibility Test (SET) to maintain high standards in Higher Secondary education. Qualifying the SET is a mandatory requirement for appointment as a Higher Secondary School Teacher in the state.

The examination is conducted by the Director of the LBS Centre for Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram, following the syllabus prescribed by the Board of Examinations. The prospectus for the January 2026 session was officially approved on October 24, 2025, with the written examination successfully conducted across the state on February 22, 2026.

Only candidates who secure the minimum qualifying marks in both Paper I and Paper II will be eligible to obtain the SET Certificate. Kerala SET Cut off 2026

The Kerala SET Cut Off Marks 2026 includes the list of minimum marks a candidate must score to pass the Kerala State Eligibility Test. The LBS Centre for Science and Technology will make the Kerala SET Result 2026 and cut-off scores available online at the same time. Kerala SET 2026 Selection Process

The selection process for Kerala SET 2026 exam is quite basic in its own perspective. The first step in the Kerala SET 2026 Selection process is the written exam. Candidates who qualify the written exam will be issued the Kerala SET 2026 Certificate. This certificate is an essential document which is further used by the candidates who qualify for the SET exam, to apply for the different recruitment exam conducted in the state to become a teacher. The written examination will be part of the KSET Selection Process. The result of the written exam will be determined through its result. The written KSET 2026 exam will consist of two papers. Let us take a look at them:

  • Paper-I: It is compulsory. Research aptitude and general teaching are the subjects of Phase I. The paper will be counted for 100 marks.
  • Paper II: This paper will include objective questions. In total, 200 marks will be awarded for Paper II as a whole.

Yes, you are eligible for Kerala SET 2025 if you have completed the required educational qualifications. You must have a Master's degree in the relevant subject with at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade.
