After the declaration of NEST 2020 results, the counselling dates will be available for the candidates who qualify the entrance examination. NEST 2020 counselling procedure is conducted in offline mode in various rounds. To participate in the NEST 2020 counselling, candidates have to report at the counselling venue on the specified date and time.
The counselling of NEST 2020 will be conducted after the merit list of NEST 2020 has been announced. Candidates should keep in mind that on the basis of the merit list issued they will be called for NEST 2020 Counselling. The counseling of NEST 2020 will be held in two rounds. After completion of the first counselling round, the conducting body will issue a list of candidates for the second round as per the vacancy of seats. Candidates are requested to check the official website for NEST 2020 for the list.
Note: The participating institutes can limit the number of invited students to admission to a reasonable extent. Getting a merit rank by satisfying SMAS and MAP criteria does not automatically entitle a candidate to be called for admission/counselling.

The counselling is organised in the following manner:
In the first phase of counselling, candidates must first register themselves for the counselling round. The registration for NEST counselling 2020 will begin in the third week of June 2020. After completing the formalities of registration, candidates will have to take a print out of the following forms such as Student Basic Details, Student Medical History, Undertaking by the student and parent/guardian, Format of Affidavit [anti-ragging] by Student and Parent/Guardian.
Candidates need to fill out these forms and submit them during the counselling procedure. All qualified candidates will have to report at the counselling venue as per the prescribed date and time.
Candidates should pay attention that the first round of counselling will continue till all the seats are not filled or the admission queue prepared on the basis of the attendance of candidates on the day of counselling does not end.

Leaving Certificate and Character Certificate from School
SC, ST or non-creamy layer of OBC categories have to produce their Original Caste Certificate as per Central Govt.
Medical Certificate needs to be presented if the candidate is Physically Challenged (PC). Certificate should be issued by Medical Officer of any Government Hospital with description of the kind and the degree of disability.
In case the Date of Birth is not mentioned in class X Certificate, Date of Birth (DOB) Certificate is required for the same.
Original E-admit card, counselling letter from ICAR should also be present with the candidate.
4 recent Passport size colored Photographs needs to be submitted, having candidate's Name and Date mentioned at the back.
Domicile Certificate
Authority letter/Undertaking in the prescribed format, if the candidate is unable to attend the counselling personally.
Demand Draft drawn in favor of NISER, payable at Bhubaneswar or in favour of UM-DAE CBS, payable at Mumbai, wherever candidates are appearing for NEST 2020 counselling.
A second round counselling will take place depending on the seats left vacant at the institutes. However, it is not a joint counselling. Each participating institute prepares their own waiting list. The vacant seats are filled based on the waitlist declared by the participating institutions on their respective websites.
If candidates fail to meet any of the criteria as mentioned by the participating institutes, it could result in cancellation of their admission. In case, a candidate wishes to withdraw their admission, they may do so through the mail or in-person with the following details

Note: The dates for the second round of counselling will be released by the participating institutes separately on their websites. After the first round of NEST 2020 counselling conducts and also withdrawal deadline is complete, the institute will release a waiting list on the official website.
