TJEE Eligibility Criteria 2026: The Tripura Board of Joint Entrance Examinations (TBJEE) will release the TJEE 2026 eligibility criteria along with the information brochure on the official website. Before filling out the application form, applicants should check the Tripura JEE eligibility criteria for 2026. Candidates taking the Tripura JEE exam must meet specific prerequisites outlined in theTJEE eligibility criteria 2026. The eligibility criteria for Tripura JEE 2026 include nationality, residence, educational history, and other factors. The applicants who are children of central/state government employees are also eligible for the TJEE examination.
The Tripura Joint Entrance Examination is administered by the Tripura Board of Entrance Examination as a state-level exam. The TJEE exam 2026 will be used to identify qualified applicants for admission to different engineering, agriculture, medical, and other professional courses.
The detailed TJEE 2026 eligibility criteria are given below:
(a) The candidate must possess Indian citizenship.
(b) The candidate needs to be a permanent resident of Tripura, and either the candidate or one of their parents must have lived in Tripura continuously for at least 10 years immediately before applying to take the Joint Entrance Examination 2019. A Permanent Resident of Tripura Certificate (PRTC), issued by the relevant authority for the candidate or their parent, must be provided during counselling.
(c) The candidate must have completed, be currently pursuing, or plan to take the Higher Secondary Examination of the Tripura Board of Secondary Education / Central Board of Secondary Education or an equivalent exam in the same year as the Joint Entrance Examination, covering the subjects in which they wish to participate.
(d) Children of All India Services Officers born in the Manipur-Tripura cadre, along with children of State Government employees stationed outside Tripura, are eligible to take the examination regardless of their prior residence in Tripura.
(e) If a candidate is not a permanent resident of Tripura but has a parent serving as an officer on deputation to the Government of Tripura or as a Central Government officer working in Tripura for at least 3 (three) continuous years and has completed the Higher Secondary Examination from an institution in Tripura, they can appear for the examination.
(f) For the children of Ex-Servicemen, either the candidate or their parents must have lived in Tripura without interruption for a minimum of 5 years before the application date for the Tripura Joint Entrance Examination, and the candidate must have either passed or intended to take the H.S. (+2) Examination or an equivalent in the year of the Joint Entrance Examination from any legally recognized institution in India, covering the subjects they wish to pursue. Additionally, children of serving defence personnel (Army / Navy / Air Force) from Tripura are allowed to take the Joint Entrance Examination, provided they have lived in Tripura continuously for not less than 5 years before their application and must have completed or be pursuing the H.S. (+2) Examination or an equivalent from any institution in Tripura in the subjects they wish to study.
(g) A candidate who has previously been awarded a seat, whether inside or outside the State, based on the results of the Tripura Joint Entrance Examination, will not be permitted to appear for the examination this year or in subsequent years unless they have formally surrendered the assigned seat in writing within the designated timeframe to the appropriate authority. If any modifications or changes occur after this notification is issued, they will be communicated following the established procedure.
