IPU CET M.Tech 2016 - Application Steps

Create Login ID
1. Register yourself as a New User, Clicking on “NEW USER SIGNUP HERE”. Then press the button Create User. 2. The Candidates are advised to note down the user id and password which will be applicable for all future references regarding this examination’s /test’s and also for future notification’s /advertisement 's.
Completing the Online
Open the Link on the web page and fill personal information like Name, User ID, Password, Category, Gender, E-mail ID, Security Question & Answer and Date Of Birth.
Uploading Scan Copy of Documents
Participants should upload all scanned copy of their Documents in required size and format. Documents may include Passport size photograph, Community/Caste Certificate (only if the applicant belongs to OBC/SC/ST), Educational Documents, Identity Proof, Domicile Certificate(if applicable) and other supporting documents as mentioned.
Payment of Fees
There are two mode of payment of fees: i. Cash payment (challan will be generated and fee may be deposited through cash in any branch of Indian Bank) ii. Net Banking /Credit Card and Debit Card.
Downloading Registration Form
1. After successfully submit application form take print out of it by given button. 2. Also, save it on your computer this is the proof of your filled application form Keep this form safe for future use.

How to Apply for IPU CET M.Tech 2016

1. Create Login ID for the filling the application form for IPU CET M. Tech.
2. Fill all the personal information like Name, User ID, Password, Category, Gender, E-mail ID, Security Question & Answer and Date Of Birth in the application form.
3. Scanned all the Documents in required size and format. Documents may include Passport size photograph, Community/Caste Certificate (only if the applicant belongs to OBC/SC/ST), Educational Documents, Identity Proof, Domicile Certificate(if applicable) and other supporting documents as mentioned.
4. Pay the application fee through i. Cash payment (challan will be generated and fee may be deposited through cash in any branch of Indian Bank)

Eligibility Conditions:
Minimum 60% or equivalent in the qualifying examination as under:

  • B.Tech. / B.E. in Computer Science/Computer Science & Engineering / Computer Engineering / Information Technology /Electronics and Communication Engineering /Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering / Instrumentation & Control Engineering/ Electrical Engineering/Electrical & Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
  • Grad. IETE/AMIE (ECE/CSE/IT/EE).
  • M.Sc. (IT/ Electronics/ Computer Science/Informatics/ Information Science & Technology/ Physics/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Operation Research/Applied Physics).

Admissions Criteria:

  • GATE qualified in Mechanical/Production/Production and industrial Engineering with a valid and qualified score card of GATE valid for the academic session.

M.Tech. (Biotechnology) (Regular)

Eligibility Conditions:
Minimum 60% or equivalent in the qualifying examinations as:

  • BE/B.Tech (Biotechnology / Chemical Technology/ Biochemical Engg. ) or equivalent.

                                             OR

  • MS / M.Sc. (Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Microbiology / Biosciences / Genetics / Life-Sciences) or equivalent.

Admissions Criteria:

  • 1. GATE qualified in the following:
    • BT (Biotechnology) with a valid and qualfied score card of GATE valid for the academic session.
  • There shall be no CET for this CET Code. 

M.Tech. (Nano Science and Technology)(Regular)
 
Eligibility Conditions:

Minimum 55% or equivalent in the qualifying examinations:

  • M.Sc.(Physics / Applied Physics / Electronics / Mathematics / Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biosciences/ Life Sciences / Material Science); B.E./B.Tech (Electronics / Computer Science / Electrical / Mechanical / Engineering Physics / Metallurgy / Material Engineering / Information Technology / Biotechnology / Biomedical / Chemical Engineering or Technology); or equivalent and Mathematics as one of the subjects at 10+2 or undergraduate level is a must.

Admissions Criteria:

  • GATE qualified in the relevant discipline with a valid and qualified score card of GATE valid for the academic session.

                                  Or

  • CET qualified (for Non-GATE) candidates in CET

M.Tech. (Engineering Physics) (Regular)

Eligibility Conditions:
Minimum 55% or equivalent in the qualifying examinations as under:

  • BE/B.Tech. Electronics/Computer Science / Electrical / Engineering Physics / Information Technology/Instrumentation & Control or equivalent.
  • M.Sc. in Physics / Applied Physics / Electronics / Mathematics or equivalent with minimum of 55% marks in aggregate in the qualifying degree. However, must have studied Physics at the undergraduate level.

Admissions Criteria:

  • 1. GATE qualified in the relevant discipline with a valid score card of GATE valid for the academic session.

  • CET qualified (for Non-GATE) candidates in CET code. 

M.Tech. (Chemical Engineering) (Regular)
 
Eligibility Conditions:
Minimum 60% or equivalent in the qualifying examinations as under:

  • B.Tech./B.E. in Chemical Engineering or equivalent 

Admissions Criteria:

  • GATE qualified in the discipline specified in the eligibility conditions with a valid score card of GATE valid for the academic session.

  • CET qualified (for Non-GATE) candidates in CET code.

M.Tech. (Robotics and Automation) (Regular)

Eligibility Conditions:
Minimum 60% or equivalent in any one of the following qualifying examination:

  • B.Tech./B.E. in Computer Science/Computer Engineering / Computer Science and Engineering/Information Technology or equivalent.
  • B.Tech./B.E. in instrumentation and Control Engineering / Electronics Engineering/Electronics and Communication Engineering / Electrical Engineering/Electrical and Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
  • B.Tech./B.E. in Mechanical Engineering / Mechanical and Automation Engineering/Industrial Engineering/Production Engineering/Automobile Engineering / Mechatronics / Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
  • B.Tech./B.E. in Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.

Admissions Criteria:

  • GATE qualified in the discipline specified in the eligibility conditions with a valid score card of GATE valid for the academic session.

                                Or

  • CET qualified (for Non-GATE) candidates in CET.

Note: There is no CET exam for M.Tech. (Biotechnology). The admission is based on GATE score.

IPU CET M.Tech 2016 Important Instructions

1. The application forms shall be available in the online mode only from the University Website: http://ipu.ac.in.

2.The last date for applying shall not be extended for any programme or programme group for which a common entrance test is to be conducted by the University. It is the responsibility of the candidates to ascertain whether they posses the requisite eligibility and qualifications for admission. Appearing for the written examination does not necessarily mean acceptance of eligibility

3.The applicants are advised that since the form filling as well as admit cards shall be made available through the online mode only, they must keep the details of their login id and the password secure and safe.

4. Applicants should be careful in choosing the CETs that they apply for, as no change would be permissible after the application has been submitted. After the application for any CET is submitted, if there is mistake in date of birth, spelling mistake in name of applicants or the parents name or in the choice of category claimed for the purpose of availing reservation, the applicant must submit an application in physical form to: Reception, Examination Division, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi.

5.After this no request for any correction shall be entertained. A Separate Application Form has to be filled-in for each programme (s) having distinct CET Code. No separate intimation will be sent to the candidates regarding declaration of results and commencement of counselling/ admission.

6. Result will be declared on University Website (http://www.ipu.ac.in). Detailed schedule of first counselling/admissions will be notified prior to commencement of respective counselling, on the University Website (http://www.ipu.ac.in).

7. The schedule may be deferred if the sanctioned intake for the respective programme is not received by the University in time. The University will declare and display the ranks of only those candidates who are declared as qualified in the CET.

8. The candidates will be called for counselling/admission depending upon the number of seats available in each programme. The admissions will be made only out of these qualified candidates strictly in order of merit. The rank of candidates who do not qualify in CET will not be declared.

9. Applicants should retain a printout of the CET application form as proof of application. In all communication regarding submission of application or otherwise related to admissions, the copy of the application form must be submitted as otherwise the communication would be deemed incomplete and no processing would be performed on the communication, without any notice to the applicant.

10. There will be no rounding-off of the percentage of marks of qualifying examination while deciding the basic eligibility of any candidate for admission e.g. if a candidate obtained 49.99% marks in his/her qualifying examination, then it will not be rounded-off to 50%.

11. It is the responsibility of the candidates to ascertain whether they posses the requisite eligibility and qualifications for admission. Filling the application form and / or appearing for the written examination does not necessarily mean acceptance of eligibility.

12. The list of documents required shall be informed through the detailed counselling schedule as notified on the University website http://ipu.ac.in.

13. The candidates are advised to check their status with the help of the login id and password. Write the complete e-mail address and phone number in the form carefully. Please note that this e-mail address and phone number may be used by the University for future communication.

IPU CET M.Tech 2016 Relaxation Policy

Age Relaxation: The upper age limit may be relaxed upto a maximum of five years in exceptional cases by the Admission Officer (designated) of the concerned programme (except MBBS/BDS) if he/she is satisfied with the merit of the case. Candidates exceeding the upper age limit upto five years may provisionally apply/ appear in the Common Entrance Test. However, they would be required to submit to the satisfaction of the Admission Officer an explanation regarding the gap period, i.e., the details of the period spent by him/her after passing the qualifying examination to justify the relaxation. Such explanation should be in the form of an application to the concerned Admission Officer along with supporting documents (if any). Any relaxation of age beyond this shall be given by the Competent Authority of the University. The candidates desirous of applying for age relaxation should apply in writing to Registrar, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. The application should reach the Admission Division of the University on or before April, 2016 at the address: Incharge Admissions, Admission Branch, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Dwarka, Sector 16C, Delhi 110078.

Reservation policy- For Delhi Region: Candidates, 85% seats are reserved i.e. those who have passed the qualifying examination from any school/ Institute located in Delhi or from any College/ Institute affiliated to GGSIP University. These seats will be filled up through the merit /rank list of the CET prepared for Delhi Region candidates. SC 15% ST 7.5% Def 5% PH 3% OBC 27% 15% seats are reserved for Outside Delhi Region Candidates. SC 15% ST 7.5% Def 5% PH 3%

IPU CET M.Tech Application FAQ

1) What is IPU-CET (M.Tech) ?

Admission into the GGSIPU is done on the basis of the merit obtained by the candidate in the Common Entrance Test (CET). 

2) What is the procedure for admission in GGSIPU?

  • The admission in GGSIPU is on the basis of merit obtained in CET.
  • Those who qualify CET are required to participate in the Counselling process for seeking admission, based on the candidate’s preferences and his/her merit in CET in the respective programmes given specific CET codes.

3) IPU-CET M.tech examination is conducted by whom?

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University are primarily through Common Entrance Tests (CET) conducted by the University.

4) How can I register for IPU-CET M.Tech examination?

  • Candidates need to get the application form online to register themselves for IPU-CET M.Tech . Applicants must check the IPU-CET M.Tech Important Dates in Website.
  • Aspirants can register for the test till Last week of March (without late fee). The form will be generated online only after IPU-CET Login ID and Password will be allotted to the candidate. While registering for the test, candidates are required to pay an application fee.

5) What is the last date for submission of IPU-CET M.Tech Application form?

The last date for submission of IPU-CET M.Tech applications is 29th March,up to 04:00 p.m.

6) What is the fee to be paid for the form?

The application form along with the Common Entrance Test Fee of Rs.1000/- plus service charge & taxes as applicable from March, onwards.

7) If any mistake has happened while filling up the CET form, how can it be corrected?

In case of any mistake regarding DOB, spelling of names etc., the candidates need to submit an application in physical form at the Reception, Examination Branch, GGSIP University along with the applicable processing fee of Rs. 500/-. This application must be submitted within 5 working days of the last date of form submission together with the applicable fee. After this no request for any correction shall be entertained.

8) Which modes the payment can be done?

For Online admission procedure, the candidates will get two options of payment:-
1. Cash payment (Challan will be generated and fee may be deposited through cash in any branch of Indian Bank).
2. Net Banking/Credit Card and Debit Card.

9) When is it conducted ?

It is usually conducted in the month of MAY. This year, the entrance test is being conducted on 6th May.

10) Where will the exam centres be formed for the exam?

The test will be conducted at 15 cities. The list of IPU-CET test centres can be obtained in official website.

11) What should be done in case any payment has been made more than once?

Any additional payment will be refunded back to the candidates. In case of any non-payment of the due amount, applicants may visit University Help Desk.

12) Can I apply for more than on programme/ IPU CET ?

Yes. However, a separate application form has to be filled for each programme having distinct IPU CET Codes.

13) When will I get my Admit Card?

Admit card will be available for view and print in the First week of MAY (onwards). You will have to log onto the IPU-CET website with your registered User ID. You will be eligible for an Admit Card only upon submission of online application form. You will receive an automated email confirmation upon successful submission from website.

14) I have filled up the form successfully but now, can I change/correct the details as entered in the Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test (IPUCET)-M.Tech Application form?

No change can be made at this stage in the application form. However, if the time is still left for filing up the online application form, the applicant can resubmit corrected application with the prescribed fee. In this case a new ID will be generated by the system. The fee paid previously will not be refunded. The latest application shall be treated as final.

15) Do I need to submit any document if pursuing course through distance learning mode?

In case of students who have passed the qualifying examination through distance/ open education system of any recognized university/ board/institution, the necessary documentary evidence related to location of his/her study centre i.e. study centre proof, certificate from the university/board imparting open/distance education certifying the location of study centre must be submitted at the time of verification of documents.
