CA Intermediate 2026 Overview

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced the details of the CA Intermediate 2026 exam. Those who want to pursue a career as a Chartered Accountant should appear for this exam. The next session of the exam is all set to be conducted from May 3, 2026. The January cycle exam has already been completed. So, candidates are requested to start their preparation for the next session, i.e., May 2026.

The CA Intermediate 2026 consists of 6 papers: exams for each paper will be conducted on different dates. Eligibility Criteria for CA Intermediate 2026

For Commerce Graduates and Postgraduates, a minimum 55% score is mandatory. For Non-Commerce Graduates and Postgraduates, a minimum of 60% score is mandatory. All applicants have to complete a minimum of the 9-month study period.

Candidates from the CS Executive Program from the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) and the CMA Intermediate Program from the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI) are also eligible to apply.

Application Process for CA Intermediate Exam 2026

Please check the detailed application process for the CA Intermediate 2026. Follow the steps carefully with the correct credentials. 

  • Navigate to the official website of ICAI: eservices.icai.org. 
  • Register as a first-time user with all the required details. Or if you have already registered, then proceed with logging in with your registration ID and password. 
  • Fill in your personal details and upload the current passport-size photo and signature, and documents, whichever is mentioned.
  • Pay the application fees through the online payment gateways. The application fees for the single group are ₹150,0 and for both groups, it is ₹2700. Once the payment is done successfully, the candidate should download the payment acknowledgement form. In case the payment is delayed, there will be a late fee of ₹600. 
  • Submit the form on or before the last date. After the final submission, there will be no option of change any information or personal details. So, it is mandatory to check all the details before proceeding with the final submission. 

Admit Card for CA Intermediate 2026

The admit card is going to be released at least 15 days before the exam date. Candidates can go to the official website of ICAI and download their admit card after entering the details like user ID and password. 

All aspirants will find the name of the candidate, roll number, centre details, dates of the exam, and the timings on their CA Inter admit card. Aspirants should carry the hard copy of the admit card along with a government ID card, which has a photograph of them and other important details like address, guardian’s name, etc.

Here are a few tips that may come in handy while preparing for the CA Intermediate exam 2026:

  • Build a realistic and strategic study plan. Dedicate at least 6 to 7 hours per day. 
  • Solve at least 5 to 6 questions per paper or subject. 
  • Make your own handwritten notes and topic summaries for better understanding and memorization. 
  • Revise every paper every day for at least 20 to 30 minutes. 
  • Practice previous question papers, online study materials, mock papers, etc to build a strong grasp on each paper. 
  • Track your preparation every week by attempting previous question papers with a strict duration like the real exam.
