IISER Counselling 2026 is expected to begin soon after the results are out! IAT 2026 counselling and seat allotment are taking place in eight rounds, depending on seat availability. Students can check their IISER Aptitude Test 2026 seat allotment results by logging into the official application portal. Admission offers are made based on the student’s IAT rank, preferred IISER choices, seat availability, and category.

Candidates whose names appear in the merit list cum counselling list and colleges have been allotted to them will have to fill out the IISER Decision Making Form 2026 to freeze and accept the seat or freeze and float for the other options. Check the steps to fill out the IISER Decision-Making form below:
Step 1: Log in to the registered account on the official website-iiseradmission.in using User ID and Password

Step 2: Click on the Submit Your Preferences tab available on the screen

Step 3: Click on Edit/View

Step 4: Click on the offer letter tab available on the screen

Step 5: Check the offer letter available on the screen

Step 6: Go to the decision-making tab and click on the “Click here to View Allotted Seat” button

Step 7: Click on the “Generate OTP” button to go to the next page

Step 8: Fill out the Captcha Code to receive OTP (One Time Password)

Step 9: Check the registered mobile number and email ID for the OTP

Step 10: Fill out the OTP and validate it

Step 11: Decide to either freeze and accept the college, accept and float for other colleges, or reject the options

Step 12: If accepted/frozen the seat, pay the fee for making a decision

Step 13: Check and download the payment receipt and log out from the account

Following are the steps which are to be followed at the time of IISER Counselling Process 2026:
Filling of Application Form
Candidates whose names appear in the IISER 2026 merit list will have to fill the application form to become eligible to participate in IISER counselling 2026.
IISER First Round Allotment List
Once IISER Aptitude Test 2026 result will be announced, the first seat allotment list for SCB Channel will be declared. The list of seat allotments will have the roll numbers of those candidates who are allocated seats through SCB, KVPY, JEE channels.
Download IISER Offer Letter
Those candidates whose roll numbers appear in the first round allotment list must log in to their application portal to download the offer letters.
Payment of IISER Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF)
The Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF) must be paid by candidates who are offered a seat for each channel of admission and category before deadline.

After the SAF payment, a candidate gets the right to avail the Float option, but only when they select “Yes” for the Float option in the online application form.
If the candidate chooses “No” as the Float option in the application form, then the first allotment of the candidates to an IISER will be final. However, if a candidate chooses “Yes” as the Float option in the application form and if he/she does not get an IISER of his/her choice in the first allotment, then his/her application will be considered in subsequent rounds allotment.
Refund Policy for Seat Acceptance Fee
If the candidate withdraws his/her claim for a seat any time before the last date, no cancellation fee will be applicable.
Only online withdrawal is possible through the candidate’s application portal. No other form/method of withdrawal is accepted.
A cancellation fee of Rs. 1000/- is applicable if withdrawal is not exercised by the candidate.
IISER is not liable for losses incurred if a candidate's application is not withdrawn in the above manner and on the specified date and time.
IISER Allotment List
Following the released allotment list, the institute publishes other round allotment list, which includes roll numbers for candidates who are either assigned a seat in the IISERs or floated in the SCB. The counseling process continues till the complete seats are filled for the courses
After this, the candidates can repeat the process of paying the SAF, downloading the offer letter, and confirming their admission.

The IISER counselling 2026 is expected to start in July 2026.
Only students who have qualified IISER Aptitude Test 2026 and are included in the merit list can take part in IISER counselling for admission to BS-MS or BTech programs.
The entire IISER counselling process is fully online. You do not need to travel to any IISER campus for counselling or seat allotment.
After qualifying IAT 2026, log in to the official website and fill out the counselling (preference) form. You will need to enter your preferences for IISERs and programs, upload required documents, and pay the counselling fee. Only those who complete these steps will be considered for seat allotment.
Seats are allotted based on your IAT rank, category, preferences given, and available seats at each IISER. If you receive a seat, you can either accept (by paying the seat acceptance fee) or reject it. If there is no response from your side, you will not be considered for any further rounds.
For 2026-27, there will be eight rounds of IISER seat allotment, depending on seat availability. If seats remain, you may get a higher preference IISER in later rounds.
For IAT 2026 counselling, some commonly required documents are your Class XII marksheet, caste/category certificate (if applicable), IAT 2026 scorecard, and other personal IDs. Make sure to upload these as instructed during the online counselling process
To take part in IISER aptitude test counselling 2026, you need to pay a non-refundable counselling or SAF (seat acceptance fee). For General/OBC-NCL/EWS students, the SAF is around Rs. 35,000. For SC/ST/PwDs, it is approximately Rs. 17,500.
