IISER Aptitude Test 2018 Eligibility Criteria

IISER Aptitude Test 2018 eligibility criteria is laid down by the exam conducting authority for the candidates who wish to apply for the entrance exam. The eligibility norms of IISER Aptitude Test include requirements related to nationality, educational qualification, and qualifying marks of the candidates in their final exams and other information relevant for applying for the exam.

Following is the eligibility criteria for IISER 2018:

Nationality:

  • Indian National, PIO & OCI candidates are eligible to apply.

Mode of IISER Admission 2018

IISER Aptitude Test is conducted through 3 channels i.e Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY), Joint Entrance Examination of Indian Institutes of Technology (JEE Advanced) and State and Central Boards Channel (SCB).

KVPY Channel

  • Candidates need to have a valid KYPY fellowship starting 2018-19. Apart from this, candidates have to meet the cut-off norms that may be applicable.

JEE Channel

  • General Category candidates must qualify the JEE Advanced exam and secure a rank within 10000 in the Common Rank List (CRL).

  • However, the candidates falling in the reserved category (OBCNC, SC, ST, PD) should secure the rank within 10,000.

SCB Channel: Under this channel,

  • Candidates should have passed their Class 12th or intermediate examination in 2017 or 2018 with Science stream.

  • Candidates must secure equal marks or above the cut-off percentage in their respective boards.

  • The cut-off percentage marks is 55% in class 12 for all boards for Scheduled Castes (SC), the Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Kashmiri Migrants (KM) category candidates.

  • There is 5% relaxation in qualifying marks for the OBC-NC & PwD category.
