The INI SS 2026 counselling process will be conducted online by AIIMS after the declaration of results. Only candidates who have qualified and are listed in the merit list can participate. To join counselling, you must register on the official portal using the same login details used during your application process. Once registered, you will need to select your preferred colleges and specialities from the available options.
The seat allocation for INI SS 2026 will take place over three counselling rounds. After each round, you must choose the seat offered to you. You have two options: either accept the allotted seat and not participate further in counselling, or accept the seat but still opt to join subsequent counselling rounds in hopes of getting a better seat. If you choose to participate in the next round after accepting a seat, you must join the allotted institute for that round. Your previously allotted seat will then be given to other candidates. Note that rejecting an allotted seat is not allowed.
If you accept a seat but fail to join the upgraded institute in the next round, you will face a penalty of INR 3 lakh. This system ensures candidates are committed to their seats, preventing misuse of the counselling process. The entire counselling procedure is transparent, merit-based, and designed to fill 854 seats available across various participating institutes for DM, MCh, and related super-speciality courses in 2026. Keep track of deadlines carefully to avoid missing any important steps in this process.
