AIIMS PG 2019 Eligibility Criteria

AIIMS PG 2019 eligibility criteria is prescribed by the exam conducting authority, i.e. AIIMS New Delhi. The eligibility criteria of AIIMS PG 2019 is specified for the candidates willing to pursue Master of Surgery (MS), Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) courses. AIIMS PG 2019 eligibility criteria specifies the basic requirements that candidates must meet to be considered eligible for appearing in AIIMS PG 2019. The eligibility norms of AIIMS PG 2019 specify age limit and academic qualification that need to be satisfied by the candidates.

Detailed AIIMS PG 2019 Eligibility Criteria

  • General and OBC category candidates should have secured at least 55% marks in MBBS courses.

  • Scheduled Case /Scheduled Tribe category candidates should score at least 50% marks in aggregate.

  • To be eligible for AIIMS PG 2019, candidates should have MBBS degree for MD/MS course from a university/institution recognised by Medical Council of India.

  • For MDS course, candidates should have a BDS degree from a university/institution recognised by Dental Council of India.

  • Candidates should have completed or expected to complete their one year of rotating Internship on or before April 30, 2018.

AIIMS PG 2019 Exam Pattern

AIIMS PG 2019 exam pattern is prescribed by All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. Candidates appearing in the entrance exam should know the structure of the medical entrance exam. The AIIMS PG is conducted in online mode and contains 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The exam pattern of AIIMS PG 2019 specifies details such as the total number of questions, exam mode, marking scheme, exam duration, etc.

  • The entrance exam is conducted in online mode.

  • The medium of AIIMS PG is English.

  • For MD/MS courses, a total of 200 questions are asked in the question paper, whereas for MDS, 90 questions are asked.

  • The exam duration of for MD/MS is 3 hours, whereas for MDS the duration of exam is 1.5 hours.

  • The question paper of AIIMS PG has multiple type of Questions (MCQs).

  • 1 mark is awarded for each correct answer.

AIIMS PG 2019 Result

AIIMS PG 2019 result for January session will be announced by AIIMS, New Delhi. The result of AIIMS PG 2019 will be released in online mode for all the candidates who appear in the entrance exam on November 18, 2018. Appearing candidates will be able to easily check their AIIMS PG 2019 result by visiting the official website of AIIMS.

The result of AIIMS PG 2019 will be made available in the form of a rank-wise merit list for all the categories. The rank-wise merit list will consist of candidates' roll number, category and overall ranks obtained by them. Candidates will be called for AIIMS PG first and second round counselling on the basis of the merit list of AIIMS PG.

AIIMS conducts the entrance exam twice in a year for the sessions beginning in the months of January and July to admit candidates in various postgraduate medical courses in M.D./M.S./ M.D.S. (6 years)/ D.M. / M.CH (3 years). Candidates must note that the result of AIIMS PG 2019 is not sent through post or courier. Based on the result of AIIMS PG 2019, candidates are shortlisted for counselling and seats are allocated according to their ranks in the merit list.

AIIMS PG 2019 Counselling Process/ Seat Allocation

The AIIMS PG 2019 counselling process is conducted after the result declaration of AIIMS PG 2019. Candidates qualifying in the entrance exam are called to participate in the counselling of AIIMS PG 2019. For the counselling purpose, candidates have to undergo registration and choice making process for AIIMS institution and Postgraduate course. As part of the AIIMS PG 2019 counselling process, candidates have to report to the institution or counselling conducting authority with their original certificates. Once the documents are verified, candidates are considered eligible for AIIMS PG 2019 admissions.

Note: Candidate failing to report for any round of counselling is not considered eligible for subsequent counselling rounds.

Step 1: Registration

  • The first step of AIIMS PG 2019 counselling is registration.

  • Candidates have to log-in using their credentials, i.e. Candidate ID and Password. Only shortlisted candidates can register themselves for participating in online counselling of AIIMS PG 2019. For counselling, candidates are required to set new password so that they can login to AIIMS PG counselling portal using the new password.

Step 2: Choice Making

The next step in the AIIMS PG 2019 counselling is the choice making. Candidates have to fill their preferences and click on 'Submit and Lock Choices'. Candidates are advised to print the choices they have finally submitted for future reference.

Step 3: Mock Counselling

On the basis of choices made by candidates in AIIMS PG 2019 counselling portal, a mock allotment is done. With the help of mock allotment, candidates get a fair idea as to which institution and programme they are likely to get admission is based on the choices and preferences filled by them.

Step 4: First Counselling (Choice Making and Seat Allotment)

In this step, qualified candidates are given a window of 24 hours to reshuffle their earlier choices or make new choices, on the basis of result of mock allotment. Based on this, the choices of the candidates are frozen automatically on the last day and time of making new choices and accordingly the seats are allotted to the qualified candidates.

Once the seat is allotted, candidates have to submit attested copies of the following documents:

  • Mark sheets of MBBS/ MDS course

  • Admit card issued by AIIMS

  • AIIMS Rank letter

AIIMS PG Cut-off 2019

The cut-off of AIIMS PG 2019 is released after the result of AIIMS PG 2019 is declared by the exam conducting authority. The cut-off marks of AIIMS PG 2018 are the minimum scores that candidates must score in order to qualify in the entrance exam. All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi decides the cut-off marks for the candidates. AIIMS PG 2019 will be held in two sessions, January and July as a computer-based test. Candidates who will meet the AIMS PG 2019 cut-off requirements will be enrolled in MS/MD/MDS programmes.

Candidates who have appeared in the exam must note that the cut-off of AIIMS PG 2019 will be available in the percentile format. Irrespective of the category, all candidates are required to secure a minimum of 50 percentile in the entrance exam. Candidates meeting the cut-off of AIIMS PG 2019 will be included in the rank lists and such candidates will be called for the subsequent rounds of counselling process. It also necessary for the candidates to secure a sufficient overall score along with obtaining AIIMS PG cut-off 2019. There are various factors on the basis of which the cut-off of AIIMS PG 2019 is prepared such as the number of candidates applied, number of seats available, the difficulty level of exam and marking scheme.

Note: On the basis of the qualifying status of the candidates, i.e. the overall score obtained by candidates who qualify the AIIMS PG 2019 cut-off, the AIIMS PG merit list will be prepared.

Factors Determining AIIMS PG Cut-off

There are various factors on which the AIIMS PG 2019 cut-off depends such as:

  • Difficulty level of the entrance exam

  • Total number of candidates appeared for the exam

  • Total number of seats available

  • Marking scheme in the exam

AIIMS PG 2019 Cut-off – Tie-Breaking Criteria

The qualifying percentile for AIIMS PG is 50%. Inter-se-merit will be prepared in case there is a tie, i.e, two candidates obtaining the exact same percentile in the exam. On the basis of the following factors, the tie-breaking criteria will be done:

  • If two candidates obtain the exact same percentile in the entrance examination, the candidate with a higher score in MBBS/BDS examination will be given preference.

  • If the tie still remains, candidate older in age will be preferred to the younger candidates.

AIIMS PG 2019 Cut-off Qualifying Percentile

Irrespective of the category, candidates must secure 50 percentile to pass the entrance test. The conducting authority will calculate the percentile scores on the basis of AIIMS PG cut-off. The percentile scores are indicative of the performance of candidates who appeared in the entrance examination.

How to Apply for AIIMS PG 2019

AIIMS PG 2019 application form for final registration has been made available from 5th October 2018 in online mode only. In order to appear for the entrance exam, it is mandatory for the candidates to fill the application form of AIIMS PG 2019. Candidates have to undergo the detailed application process of AIIMS PG 2019 including registration, payment, choice of a city, uploading images and taking a print out of the completed AIIMS PG application form. Candidates also have to pay the AIIMS PG 2019 application fee through online mode i.e. Credit card, Debit card and Net banking. General and Other Backward Class (OBC) candidates have to pay INR 1000, whereas Scheduled Caste (SC) or Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates are required to pay INR 800 as AIIMS PG 2018 application fee.

Step 1: Online Registration

The first step of AIIMS PG application process is online registration. During the registration, candidates have to select an academic course for the desired Postgraduate course. Candidates have to enter their ID, Password and click on ‘login’ button. To proceed further, candidates have to enter their Personal details, Contact details and Address details.

Step 2: Qualification Details

In this particular step, after registration, candidates have to fill their Internship details, Academic qualification, and Medical registration number.

Step 3: Exam Centre Choice

While filling the application form, candidates have to choose a centre of their preference. Candidates must note that the exam centre is allotted as per the availability and on first come first serve basis.

Note: AIIMS New Delhi's decision regarding the AIIMS PG 2019 test centre allocation is considered final and cannot be challenged.

Step 4: Application Fee Payment

General and OBC category candidates have to pay INR 1000, whereas for SC/ST candidates, the application fee is INR 800. OPH candidates are exempted from paying the application fee for AIIMS PG 2019. Candidates can pay the AIIMS PG 2019 application fee via Credit card/Debit card/Net banking.
