SEED Selection Process 2024

The SEED exam takes place in two parts: an online exam and a portfolio review. First, candidates take an online proctored exam. This part tests their abilities in scientific and mathematical knowledge, creativity, problem-solving, and more. The top performers move on to the next stage, which is the Portfolio Review and Personal Interview (PRPI) round. Here, candidates present their portfolios and interact with a panel. Both the exam scores and the PRPI performance determine the final selection. The BDes program begins in July 2024. The SEED 2024 merit list will be out by early May 2024. Detailed SEED Selection Process 2024

The SEED selection process 2024 generally follows the usual lineup of SEED, Studio Round and Personal Interviews. Candidates are selected based on these three rounds in design colleges. A list of short-listed aspirants for other rounds such as Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction (PRPI) is announced by the conducting body after the SEED exam is conducted. After the list is released, shortlisted candidates must book slots for the PRPI. Then, the SEED admit card 2024 for the PRPI round will be announced. For the selection process, students need to upload their Portfolio & PRPI tasks within a designated timeline. PRPI will be conducted based on the number of slots booked by the candidate. The merit list will be released after these rounds are completed.

What is a Portfolio Round?

The portfolio round is the second round of the SEED selection process. Students who want to participate in the portfolio round must upload their respective portfolios before the last date as per the institution. The portfolio has the best work created by the candidates such as sketches, collaging of images, 2D and 3D articles, 3D objects like sculpture, fabric products, gadgets, art-inspired products, mixed-media illustrations, digital work, photography and more.

Design candidates are judged based on their creative approach, drawing skills, and innovative and creative ideas. Candidates should try to attain multiple skills, passions and interests in numerous different areas and techniques in their portfolio.

What is the Personal Interview Round?

Candidates who qualify for the portfolio round go for the third round which is a personal interview. The candidate’s interpersonal skills, knowledge and confidence are evaluated in this round. Questions in this round range to any area and can also be from the portfolio submitted by the aspirant. As this round is for the design courses, the panel members might ask students to demonstrate their skills, so students are advised beforehand to keep some basic art stationery such as paper, pencils and more.

Note: Students must be aware that the final selection is done based on the cumulative performance of the candidates. So, they have to perform well in both the aforementioned rounds.
