SLAT 2020 admission

SLAT 2020 (Symbiosis Law Admission Test) is one of the four entrance examination conducted by Symbiosis University. The exam falls under the category of SET 2020 (Symbiosis Entrance Test) examination. SLAT exam is held by Symbiosis University to offer admission to the aspirants into its 5 years long law courses, i.e. BBA LLB (Hons.) and BA LLB (Hons.). Four schools of Symbiosis International University offer law courses namely, SLS (Symbiosis Law School) Noida, SLS Nagpur, SLS Hyderabad and SLS Pune. Apart from the mentioned law schools, other institutes like Shoolini University accepts SLAT exam. This year, SLAT 2020 was conducted from 26th to 28th July 2020 in an internet-based online proctored mode. The results of the test will be announced on 13th August 2020.

Every year, SIU (Symbiosis International University) releases the information regarding application and admission on the official website. SLAT is an objective-type university level examination. How to apply for SLAT 2020?

Candidates are required to go to the official website to register and apply for the SLAT 2020 exam. The eligible applicants will appear for the exam that is scheduled to be held in the online mode. SIU has already released the SLAT application form. Mentioned below is the procedure through which a candidate can apply online for the SLAT test.

  • Those willing to apply need to visit the official website and register on the admission portal of SLAT exam 2020.

  • After registration, the candidates will have to fill the admission form by entering their academic and personal credentials.

  • The aspirants will further upload the images of the required scanned documents, passport-sized photo, and signature in the prescribed format.

  • Before the final submission of the form, the candidates are required to complete the fee payment through any of the payment options (Axis Bank Gateway, Billdesk Gateway, Indian Bank Gateway, and Demand Draft)

Note: The application fees for the SLAT admission is Rs. 1,750. The exam is conducted in the morning session. If an aspirant wishes to apply for the evening session exam as well as the morning session exam, the fee charged will be Rs. 3,500.

After the above-mentioned process is complete, its confirmation will be sent through an e-mail containing the application number of the applicant. The aspirants are advised to keep a copy of the filled-in admission form for future reference. Apart from this, candidates are required to register for admission at the specific institute of SIU (Symbiosis International University).

SLAT 2020 Eligibility Criteria

The candidates are required to satisfy the set eligibility criteria in order to apply for the SLAT test.

  • If an aspirant is unable to meet the conditions, he/she will be considered invalid for taking the exam. Candidates are required to keep in mind the following mentioned criteria to go through with the admission process.

  • The candidates must have passed class 12 qualifying examination from any recognised state or national board of education.

  • Applicants appearing for the class 12 exam are also eligible to apply for the SLAT test 2020 given that they produce the required qualification documents during the time of admission.

  • The aspirants applying for BBA LLB (Hons.) should have studied Social Science subjects or Arts in class 12. Also, those enrolling for BA LLB (Hons.) should have studied from Mathematics/Commerce/Science stream.

  • Age is not a bar for SLAT test.

SLAT 2020 Admit Card

Admit card is very crucial for the SLAT 2020. Without it, a candidate would not be allowed to appear for the exam. It is essential for the aspirants to take a coloured printout of the admit card as the black & white ones are not accepted in the examination centre. Here is how you can download the SLAT exam admit card.

  • The candidate must visit the official website of SET 2020.

  • The main page reflects an ‘Admit Card’ tab. Click on it.

  • A new window pops up for the login. Enter the ID and password.

  • Click on the ‘Submit’ button and the admit card will appear on the screen.

  • Check the details mentioned and verify it.

  • In case of the wrong details, candidates are required to inform the helpdesk of SIU.

  • Download the admit card and get its printout for future use.

SLAT 2020 Exam Pattern

The Symbiosis Law Admission Test is an examination that is conducted in the online mode. The exam is framed in an objective type pattern where the candidates will be asked to circle the correct answer out of the four options. The questions will be based on the five vital subjects, i.e. Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, General English, Analytical Reasoning, and General Knowledge. SLAT 2020 Syllabus

SLAT test is conducted for admission at the undergraduate level. Students will have to stick to the SLAT syllabus in order to score well in the exam. The syllabus will be of intermediate level only and the aspirants are advised to cover as many topics as possible in order to get through the online exam. Legal Reasoning- Indian Constitution, its sections, Structure and Schedules, Torts, Legal Terms, Contracts and Constitutional Law, IPC & CrPC, Vicarious Liability, the Law of Crimes, Strict Liability, Intellectual Property Rights, International Law, Legal Awareness covering Constitutional Law and Polity.

Logical Reasoning- Series, Blood Relations, Critical Reasoning, Directions, Analogy and Syllogism

General English- Reading Comprehension, Grammar, Vocabulary, Word Usage, Antonyms, Synonyms, Inference-based questions, Foreign Phrase/Words, Para Jumbles.

Analytical Reasoning- Deductive Reasoning, Percentage, Profit & Loss, Algebra, Mental ability and Mathematical/Logical Analysis, Logical Fallacy, Odd-Even Discretion, Syllogism, Analogy, Agreement and Disagreement.

General Knowledge- UN bodies, International events, Current affairs, development in the areas of geopolitics, sports and important environmental agreements, eminent personalities, awards and honours, current affairs.

SLAT 2020 Result

The result of SLAT 2020 is announced in the month of May every year. This year, the result is expected to be out on 12th August 2020. After the declaration of the result, it will soon begin reflecting on the official website of SET. Candidates need to enter the password and SLAT ID on the login window. The aspirant can also take a print out or download the result for the future reference.

SLAT 2020 Counselling Process

After the result is declared for SLAT 2020, the counselling and admission process begins. Candidates are shortlisted as per their performance in the SLAT 2020 for the counselling process. The process includes Personal Interaction (PI) and the Writing Ability Test (WAT). Each participating college has a separate counselling process. Each participating college in SLAT 2020 conducts its own PI and WAT. When SLAT scores are scaled to 50, the weightage for PI is 30 and that for WAT is 20. Candidates scoring highest marks in each parameter will be chosen in the final seat allotment. Each of the colleges will publish the category-wise cut off marks as well as waitlist as per the availability of seats.

Important Documents for SLAT 2020 Counselling Process

The law aspirants are required to carry all the important documents before entering the venue of counselling. They are advised to carry all the original documents as well as photocopies for verification and smooth conduction of the counselling process. Given below are the documents required.

  • Domicile Certificate issued by the concerned authority
