TIFR GS Exam 2026 Overview

Tata Institute of Fundamental Research conducts this Graduate School (TIFR GS) entrance to select deserving students for PhD and Integrated PhD programmes at the renowned participating colleges. • It will be an online exam held once a year.
• There will be MCQs, subjective-type, and true/false statement-based questions.
• The total number of questions will vary based on your chosen subject.
• The exam paper will be available in English only.
• For each correct answer, 3 marks will be awarded, while an incorrect answer will result in 1 mark in section A. Whereas for section B, 5 marks will be awarded for a correct response, there is no negative marking for this section.

Students must complete the TIFR GS registration process 2026 before the deadline to be eligible for the TIFR GS 2026 exam.

Admit Card: The TIFR GS admit card 2026 is expected to be released in mid-November 2025. Only registered students will be able to download their TIFR GS 2026 admit card by entering their login credentials, like their username and password.

TIFR GS Exam: The TIFR GS 2026 examination will be conducted on December 14, 2025, for PhD and Integrated PhD programmes in Biology, Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Science education across 57 TIFS GS exam centres in India.
